Rebekah Dahlman

I used to put a ton of stock in te Hoopgurlz rankings until I saw how Nike team kids got all the rankings. Emiah dropped out Of the Hoopgurlz rankings after the first tournament, in three games she scored 17, 28, and 19pts I was thinking she was gonna shoot up even higher even with the HG photographer at the 28pt game, and she fell out! Every coach that was recruiting her said that was a joke. But it's the politics that go into it! Yep CycloneBob, I'm an early riser lol.. See u guys soon!!

I agree RB that rankings are usually slanted towards the big time AAU programs players. The rankings follow the money and NIKE puts on the big tournaments which Hoopgurlz want to be involved in. No disrespect to Dahlman, because she is a top quality player, but Johnson may have a bigger upside in BF's system. The Cyclones specialize in finding the good players with a big upside that have been over looked by other programs. I am anxious to see Em. and Kidd play in a couple of weeks.

Although greatly dissapointed Dahlman chose elsewhere, think Johnson was more of a need size and lengthwise on the wing area. As others pointed out a lot of competition for that 1/2 spot the next few years. Plus there is no dwnying the value of a Vanderbilt education.

PS Mred, Jensen was on the Hoopgurlz watch list and did get a write up in HG site before it went down as a player to watch bwfore her injury so I suspected that she would have been a top 100 there if not for that devil ACL.

Has there ever been an analysis of perceived rankings vs actual results 1,2,3 and 4 years later? Love to see that!
Coach Fennelly and staff at Iowa State are effective at developing players. List of players that came out of "nowhere" by ranking standards that made All Big XII or national impact is notable.

Dahlman named to preseason All-SEC Second Team

Per article, she was out due to a blood clot last season & is at Vandy as redshirt freshman.
Was leading SEC, ranked 10th in the nation in 3-point percentage at 51.4% (18-of-35) at the time of her injury.

I always find it interesting how former recruits end up & saw this come across.

Dahlman is a great one. Her teammates, if she had come to Iowa State, would have been Johnson and Jadda. Buckley is the only freshman in the nation to shoot 40 percent from the field, 40 percent from three and 87 percent from the charity stripe … second on the team in field-goal percentage, making 44.3 percent. Dahlman is special but Vandy did not have a great year though they may this year.
