Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

Coach prime want’s exposure. Can’t get that in PAC, but can in Big 12.
I don't know, he's getting a lot of exposure now, ESPN is airing the Colorado spring game. He says something and goes viral every couple of weeks.

The game day atmospheres would certainly be better in the Big 12 when they play the old Big 8 teams and BYU who all travel better than most of the PAC 12.

If Prime doesn't turn things around he'll be the laughing stock of college football. He's brougt so much attention to himself, networks will cover CU and Prime like a reality TV show.

Agree. The Prime hire will either be a home run or a strike out. However, CU's program has been so awful anyway that I'm guessing they felt the potential reward was far greater than the risk.

Jackson State has a storied history, and he did well there by their standards.
I am not a fan of his schtick, but I think he a good coach.
I'd love to have Colorado back in the Big 8, er Xii!

He is smart. He plays the CEO role. He hires good coaches and his name helps recruit. His job is to just be the face of the program, bring attention to the program, and give moto talks to the players.

He was getting a couple P5 level recruiting classes in a horrible FCS league. He’s playing teams that probably would’ve all been underdogs to SEMO. No matter how well he recruits at CU he will never have the talent gap he just had at JSU. He may do fine but other than checking the box that he will in fact improve recruiting, I’m not sure there’s much to draw from his JSU days. That league is awful.

I'm not a fan boy, just saying that he did well at Jackson State.
He could have had those recruits and failed too.
Time will tell at CU.

The schools JSU played are the type where so long you can get better players, the coaching doesn’t matter. He’s now at a level where the coaching is going to matter more.

Jackson State, Alabama or Iowa State, coaching always matters. Otherwise, there would be no need to fire and hire coaches. I'm just giving the man his due. He did historically well at Jackson State, and JSU has a solid football history as an HBCU program.

It will be a huge step up, but he hired some good coordinators if I remember correctly. If you watched any of their series, Deion is a gifted communicator and strong leader, not unlike our own head coach (style difference obvi). I was impressed and can see why kids love him. I'm cheering for him, but maybe not too much. We've been recruiting CO pretty heavy lately.

Prime is an ordained minister if I’m not mistaken so communication skills are usually pretty good there.
