Assuming this is just for a period of several years as they phase in to a full payout then this isn't new at all. The B1G did the same for Rutgers, Maryland, and Nebby. If I were a below median brand in the B1G like Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern, Iowa, Maryland etc., I would be extremely skeptical of dipping our toe into unequal revenue distribution by giving Washington and Oregon partial shares. Once that door is open, it might not get closed again.

They’re too arrogant to let that possibility cross their spoiled minds. If I were a below median brand in the B1G like Purdue, Indiana, Northwestern, Iowa, Maryland etc., I would be extremely skeptical of dipping our toe into unequal revenue distribution by giving Washington and Oregon partial shares. No way in hell any of those teams get invites today the way sports media has shifted in the last few years. Even under the old model did they really think more New Yorkers would watch the Big Ten just because Rutgers was in the league? LolWhew. That's a murderers row of acquisitions there....
It didn’t matter whether they watched, anybody with cable was forced into paying for their network. No way in hell any of those teams get invites today the way sports media has shifted in the last few years. Has to be introductory because big ten people say there is no unequal sharing in the big ten.I assumed it was noteworthy because it wasn't one of these introductory period things, but if that's the case then it really doesn't matter.
Utah has 5 national parks, hosted the Olympics, fantastic skiing. What are you talking about flyover? Easily in top ten most beautiful states. They just dont get it.
It’s not that the big 12 has better history or prestige or academics or any other of those things that don’t matter at all in the TV deal. They have a better product on the field/court and better fan bases which matter immensely to the TV deal.
Also… I can’t think of a more flyover/truck stop State than Utah.
Sure. And a whole bunch of planes fly over it to and from LA and San Fran.Utah has 5 national parks, hosted the Olympics, fantastic skiing. What are you talking about flyover? Easily in top ten most beautiful states.
It's a destination from CA as well. Dumb take.Sure. And a whole bunch of planes fly over it to and from LA and San Fran.

Link the definition. That's not how it works. I don't think you understand the meaning of flyover country. Dumb take.

It’s amazing the people who can’t take an L on here and instead dig in with their stupidity. Flyover state is one that nobody has any real reason or desire to go to. Vacation for example.Well, @FerShizzle he has got you there. Hosting a Winter Olympics 20 years ago? Skiing? We did not know Utah was a crown jewel of the Pac 12 (which would seem to be the discussion here til he derailed it).
Here's hoping he is an assistant in the Pac 12. Can you imagine him telling Commissioner Kliavkoff, "Hey, boss, remind ESPN that we have five national parks...."
Even the Pac 12 shills are not this stupid.

- (US, mildly derogatory) Any state of the United States that is often passed over by intercoastal / transcontinental flights, rather than being a popular destination. (the Gulf coast, Great Plains, Appalachia, Rocky Mountain states)
Hmmm.... Utah is a Rocky Mountain State, is it not?
Uh, yes, yes, they are! Here's hoping he is an assistant in the Pac 12. Can you imagine him telling Commissioner Kliavkoff, "Hey, boss, remind ESPN that we have five national parks...."
