Rasheed Sulaimon dismissal

Yep... we don't want the one year guys like Deandre Kane that don't impact the program at all... get real

If Sulaimon is eligible to play next year, he will be joining a back court/wing group of Morris, Long, Cooke, Williams, Burton, and possibly Thomas if he stays. This is nowhere near to the situation Kane came into when we had zero established backcourt/wing guys going into last season.

I think we're to the point where we won't take kids that have been kicked off due to disciplinary issues unless we're positive those issues don't resurface here.

Get real next year we have
Monte Morris
Naz Long
Jameel McKay
Abdel Nader
Georges Niang

Deonte Burton
Matt Thomas
Hallice Cooke
Clayton Custer
Georgios Tsalmpouris
Darien Williams
Possible Diallo

Why use it on a one year player when you have all this depth? And he's not an impact player.
Because he wouldn't be playing next season, he would be playing in 2 years, and the bolded people either will not or may not be on the team anymore by then. He may not be an impact player, but since he was averaging about 19 minutes a game at Duke where being an McDonalds All American is pretty common he is probably better than Cooke, Thomas and Custer too.

I'd have to disagree. 3 of those players you listed would play for Duke and none would start. If we want to start ANNUALLY competing with them, we need to match talent. We have done better in that dept compared to KU, but we are nowhere near UK and Duke talent-wise. Sulaimon would start over Custer, Thomas,
Nader, and GT. But I'll wait to see how Williams and Burton perform with Fred's help. But to say ISU doesn't want this kid is foolish. That is assuming there are no character/drug issues.

DON'T WANT - he was in the dog house a lot last year and pulled things out of the gutter. His mins, ppg, rebs, etc. have also gone down every year. I think we're in a situation where we don't need players like this anymore.

This is probably the biggest factor concerning if we go after him or not. Drug issues don't just go away as easily as some people think, and if this is the case then I could see Hoiberg staying away.

New flash Sulaimon didn't start.

When did this start?

One thumb up only because I can't give 100. ha. If there aren't disciplinary issues, guys usually don't get kicked off teams. We have built a program around guys getting their last chance and taking advantage of it.

He was playing 19 minutes a game though, which is pretty damn good. Thomas and Custer wouldn't see the floor for Duke. It's not a slam on them either. His replacement is a McD's All American who averages 6 minutes a game right now.

What if you want to bank that 1 extra scholarship for a 2016 big time recruit?
