Rasheed Sulaimon dismissal

Why 23 months? Wouldn't he have to sit out only one year as he would transfer after the end of this semester?

Good catch, I guess it's more like 21.5 months. Thanks.

Still, he's got to be thinking about other options at this point, unless he can graduate this semester or summer.

So, he has to sit out if he attends another school even though he has no other option at this point? Seems unfair.
If that changes, every player who wants to transfer will just never attend practice until he gets kicked off the team so he is eligible right away.

I would not be surprised if he finishes his degree by end of this term or the summer. ESPN reported that he is in fact good academic standing and plans to finish out Spring semester at Duke.

If he can finish by end of the summer, he can be eligible immediately at another school.

I wish he was like 6-11 Center/Forward. We need big body instead of guards.

Yeah, and I think Duke still has that graduate in 3 years program that some of their athletes have used.

It's too bad for him it wasn't 10 days ago because he could bulked up on classes for the spring too now that he's got time on his hands. I'm sure he's missed the drop/add deadline.

Another lead guard that can create is just as much if a need (to be an elite team) IMO.

How'd this guy manage to get kicked off the team the day after a road game. There's barely enough time to get in trouble.

Maybe Coach K had already made the decision but thought he needed his shooting against ND? When he didn't come through he cut the cord.

He can go D-2 or D-3 and play right away.

I would assume he has NBA aspirations so I doubt he's going to want to do that. That being said, he could do that if he wants to as well. We'll probably find out more when things get closer to the off season.

Zagsblog rumors have Sulaimon leaning towards a return to his home state. Texas could use a good 3 pt shooter. I would't be surprised if TA&M also becomes involved, they were the runner-up to Duke originally and have been recruiting a lot of transfers lately.

"Houston and Texas are among the possible landing spots for the former Houston (TX) Strake Jesuit star, sources told SNY.tv.Duke says Sulaimon remains in good academic standing and is expected to finish the spring semester."

that zagoria guy is plugged in. kid from houston looking at houston and UT as potential landing spots. ace reporting there.

Roughly the time from right now until he is eligible to play again, which is ~Nov 2016
Are you sure that's the case if you are dismissed from a team? He isn't technically transferring. Michael Dixon was eligible to play right away at Memphis after he was dismissed from Mizzou. He was able to get a waiver despite being booted for alleged sexual assaults. Sulaimon is just getting the boot for whining from the sounds of it.
