My daughter is now in physical therapy for her shoulder. Same lady who rehabbed my son. She falls into the how is she single category. Would guess 30ish, attractive, nice, has a great job. She does live (she had mentioned this when she changed locations and we changed to stay with her so I didn’t stalk her) in a small town with a bunch of drunken inbred hillbillies, so I figure that’s it. This is the type of woman you want to see your son date.

Have a new ad popping up now. So I get all these date mom ads with...............bed in a box!! Made me laugh, not sure if they go together, but seeing how a married man is getting dating sites, they kinda do go together.

Work conference and New Orleans, not sure those are two things that go together. Semi related BIL had a conference the week of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Nice job government of picking the most expensive week of the yr to send your employees to N.O. We gave him a fair amount of crap about that junket.

I wonder how the government pulled off getting space in NO for that. The federal government is generally limited to spending only the mandated per diem amount for lodging and I can't imagine there is a hotel in New Orleans that would allow that to happen the week of Mardi Gras.

Jcyclonee, so how was visit to expensive college? Have you talked her out of it yet?

The visit was OK. It was quirky and funky. The students did seem very bright and pretty happy. The college provides no merit-based financial aid so she won't be going there. It is not designed for people in the middle/upper-middle classes. It is definitely for people on limited incomes or the very wealthy.

The original Willy Wonka movie, 1971, really holds up well. The first hour is still pretty darn engaging...and besides the rare old car in the background...it does not look or feel like a period piece. It could have been produced last year.

I swear the music played in the tunnel is the same music played when Thor is in the chair getting ready to meet the Grand Master.

I was in a Caseys and this dad was asking if I was coaching 3/4 football again. Told him my kid will be fifth so I will be 5/6 coach. Dad starts talking about other things. I look down at this other kid with him. Mowing down on a dipping box of mustard. Straight yellow mustard. I got queasy watching him.

Went to sonic while going through emporia KS. Reminded us of when we went to the Kstate game and went to sonic. Oldest got chicken nuggets and ranch dipping sauce. Drove to the game, started to eat and he realized they gave him gravy instead. It was nasty.

And because of weird DirecTV crap, we wouldn't get the CBS broadcast here in Ottumwa.
