But I got a 7-day ban that was so ridiculous, I cancelled my Patreon contribution.

Note to self, Patreon contribution does not purchase ban immunity afterall.

I haven't but I rarely venture into the cave. There is no winning when talking politics. People have their beliefs and nothing will change that. It's like trying to convince me that Will Farrell is funny. Not going to happen.

I referred to the GOP as "Grand Ole Pedophiles." That was literally all that was in my post. I got banned for it.

Should have stuck with "perverts." That's generally been OK.

I've been sworn at, threatened to be beaten if ever met in person, and told to do obscene things to myself in threads (not The Cave) and nothing happened to any of the posters. The line is pretty wavy it seems. Certain angry and aggressive posters seem to be immune to the rules that are applied to others. I just assume if I did any of those I'd get a time out.

I think the issue is that some posters "report" transgressions more than others. Oddly enough, the ones that are likely reporting the "mean" things people say are the ones who are calling others snowflakes...

I've never been banned but I have a few things going for me. I'm opted out of the cave and 90% of my posts are GIFs.

I've had posts deleted, usually because I quoted someone who was headed ass over teakettle toward the ban-hammer. A couple of times though, my original posts have been deleted. I've asked different mods in PMs about the reasons, and they've usually been pretty cool about explaining. It's better to know the boundaries pre-hammer, ya know?
