When I left new Orleans yesterday, it was 74 and sunny. Today, the wind chill is -4 and there's snow everywhere... but it's sunny.
Hopefully not like my sisters & BILs. One sister started counting minutes until five when she would allow herself & her husband to drink. I'm drinking water, they're pounding scotch. Not as fun as it may sound, especially when it's a nightly thing.
I use the heart for sympathy and for "I LOVE this post". So all y'all get to guess which is which.

That's what the cheese is for in "wine and cheese" so drink up!Googled best protein drinks this afternoon because working out and old folks need moar protein than you young pups.
Such much disappointment to find that wine was not on the list.
Powering through some coffee protein right now than off to get a haircut. Haircut expired like two weeks ago and haven't been able to go out in public other than grocery store or LifeTime. Too many mirrors at LifeTime and kept staring at the mop of unkempt hair so off to get it sheared back some.
Yeah, the amount of mirrors at LTF is ungodly. As if I wasn't self-conscious enough BEFORE going in there...
Actually, I've had an episode once where I was especially hormonal that day, happened to glance over at the mirrors while I was on a treadmill, thought I looked subhuman, and immediately stopped my workout/gtfo of there as quickly as I could before more people could see me. They have too many mirrors there.
Families in general can be strange. This means we are the normal ones right?
Mostly due to what we are starting to believe is some kind of mild mental disability or at the very least a chronic mental condition my parents help my sister with a LOT and pretty much do everything but live her life for her. Then when I call up and ask if they want to have our son sleep over some night it is a big charade of well let me ask your dad and this and that. Cut that crap out we all know that at most you are going to go to a fish fry that you could take him with so answer the question yes or no.
Meanwhile my in laws routinely call to see if they can do stuff with us, take LittleWx places etc. Not to mention the rest of the week after St Louis we will be with her entire family in Branson and they are paying for our condo, a couple of shows and a pontoon one day.
Not trying keep up with the Jones's but I just gave up a job opportunity so you could be in your grand kids life. Take advantage.

Before they passed, I used to get really frustrated with my wife's parents. They would take my nieces for a week, but never offered to watch our daughter once, even for a night while they were in town. They would buy waaaay too many gifts for my daughter, even though I repeatedly told them that it was just going unused because there was so much stuff.
I eventually came to the conclusion that they were still trying to figure out how to be good grandparents just like a lot of us are still trying to figure out the parenting thing. I still got frustrated with the things that should have been obvious to them, but I let a lot more of it slide after awhile.
Speaking of random, we're two days away from Rex Manning day! How will we all be celebrating the holiday this year?
Rethinking my decision not to get gas yesterday when it was 50 degrees out. I was done after running to school and back 7 times yesterday starting at 6:15am and ending st 6:15pm. Unfortunately a school permit would have only eliminated the first and last trips.
If you're playing for money, have no sympathy. They're easy marks.

My wife's parents are great. I do get frustrated when my sister in law insists that since the in-laws are watching our 2 kids for X number of days they are required to watch her 3 kids for the same number of days or more. Beyond the number of kids the other difference is that we take our kids to the inlaws house but the SIL expects the grandparents to travel out of state to her for the kid watching. Oh yeah, the other difference is we ask while the SIL demands.
Nope. 68 during the day and 66 at night. Sometimes my wife will turn the temperature to 69. I laugh internally because it's best that I keep my mouth shut sometimes.
At the Dave & Buster's in Omaha, husband and I would clean up on the trivia game as being two stone cold sober players against 3(?) drunk or slightly tipsy players.
I'm now off to get ready so that I can take the husband's car for an oil change. Joy.
