Well, that escalated quickly. Working to finish off garage and decided to replace the one old outlet with a gray one to match the new paint. Pull it out to see if I needed to buy a 15 or 20 amp GFI and see that the wiring coming in is 12 ga. on a 20 amp circuit but wiring leaving the box that powers the garage opener and lights is 14 ga. Not a yuge safety thing but not code so I decide to add a circuit and pull new wire to power the lights. Heck the main box is just on the other side of the wall. How hard could it be to fish and add a new wire set through holes through concrete block and a furred out insulated wall? Well, holes were sized for a single wire set so it was way harder than I thought. And needed to pull jacketed wire since the old conduit only went part way to the garage box. Simple outlet change becomes hours of ******* around.
