I don't know what's stranger, that there's a subreddit just for men's forearms or that you're turned on by forearms.

Since you are Bikeman here: I am debating whether to add a road bike to my ride options. The Specialized hybrid is great for what I have been riding, 20-25 fitness rides on city trails, but thinking maybe adding a drop bar road bike for longer rides since I have the time (no one to ride with, but what the ****). Eriks got some 2015's Raleighs from discontinued models. They have a nice Revenio with carbon forks and nice 105 components all around for less then $1000. Good price for those components, better than most spendier top brand name bikes. Downside is current ride is a good fit for me and I can ride without the discomfort I had sometimes with my older bikes. Just maybe isn't a good bike if I want to ride 50 or so.

Haven't ridden a drop bar in like 20 years and gave my old Schwinn LeTour away last year.
Maybe see if you can take one for a longer test ride and see how it is treating you. Any shop worth their salt should be able to configure it for you to minimize discomfort and wear and tear on the body. You could get a higher and shorter stem if you are so inclined so you aren't so inclined. ;) Getting real low starts to get harder and harder even at my age. I know, I know, I'm not that far behind you age-wise.

Being able to get down in the drops for a time is a real nice option to have when it gets windy. Of course that never happens in beautiful Minnesota.

I don't know much about the Raleighs but i think they have come a long way since their drop from relevance in the 90s. I will say as a rule of thumb if you have a little more to spend get the components that fit what you want and spend any extra on the frame even if it is a little better than you need. It is a lot easier to upgrade the components if you decide to down the road. You are pretty much locked in on the frame without starting over.

Off to the Nortlund.

The pool has only been open a little over a week and one of the "regulars" already slipped up and called one of my lifeguard sons "daddy." Pool seems to be the most popular daycare in town. My boys are giving private lessons between group lessons and pool opening, so the grandma that is supposed to be watching the kid while parents at work signed him up for private lessons right before pool opening so she can drop him off sooner. Then the parents wait to pick him up until they have dinner cooked so he just sits around during adult swim. I would think 8-9 hours a day at the pool would be tiresome for anyone. He probably does see a lot more of my boys than his parents though.

Parents really hate when their kids get kicked out of the pool for some period due to bad behavior. There goes their daycare.

I just saw that the Ames pools were having shortened hours due to not enough staff.

I understand they need to have full staffing to keep areas of the pool open, but it really puts a kink in summer plans at times. Tot time is great, but we haven't been able to use it the past 4 years we've had tots because older siblings over the age of 7 are not allowed. So one of the next best time for us to go is early evening until close so like 6:30 or 7 until 8pm, but until they find more lifeguards the splash pool where 2 of mine go closes at 6pm. We will deal.

It was raining on my way home and LittleWx wanted to go outside so when it tapered to a sprinkle I showed him the water running in the street. Bad mistake...

A few minutes ago he went into his room and shut the door. Played with a toy for a few minutes but is now dumping all of his books out.

The weekend is off to a great start.

got many flowers tonight. Seems like all the stuff I wanted must have sold while I was gone. First place really only had baskets and expensive stuff left. Second place had most what I was looking for, but not flats of stuff but rather $4 bigger pots of them. Rather the flat when I'm looking for like 20 of a kind! Anyway, getting home and reached in for the mail (still in the car) and I'm like 95% something ran across my left foot. It took me a second to realize and then I swiftly parked and exited the vehicle. I looked around and shook mats but didn't find anything.

I did find a tag for my sunglasses on the passenger side floor so I'm kinda convincing myself that when I opened the window, a breeze somehow blew that over my foot and the console to drop on the other side. Yeah, we'll go with that.

I haven't watched an NBA game all year. Pondering whether to channel flip over after the Yanks finish off the Orioles.

Sounds scary, but put yourself in the momma spider's shoes. She was just trying to get to her egg sac underneath the passenger seat to make sure her hundreds of babies were ok, and you probably scared her half to death.

Got a discussion going on in my house that I really don't know how to give a title to-

We were invited to a family wedding recently and was trying to explain the family relationship to my wife- the wedding involves my grandma's sisters great grandson. What is that in relationship to me? Third cousins? Second cousins once removed?
