The dog-loving oldest got to dog sit a Bernese puppy this weekend. Such a big ball of fluff, she walked her down to our house so we all got to see her.

The kindergartener had her first softball practice yesterday. It was at 6pm and she woke up ready to go. ;) Gotta remember where they start after watching the oldest play for so long. All of the little girls were proficient in playing in the dirt.

They sell some real crap on TV nowadays. Must be people that buy it though.

Z and I have seen a lot of commercials for the mermaid tail blankets as well as fish/animal ones. So, we looked on amazon. The clown fish's reviews were all about the bad material used and no one seemed to like them.

CG, Z sewed more later yesterday and then decided she needed to practice cutting all of the threads.... She even had me make more stitches for her to cut.

right now I have a little baggie of all my thread ends. Some are longer than others - I bet a pair of scissors and that scrap thread would provide endless entertainment. And mess.

The 4yr old saw all those commercials and wanted the shark tail for her bday. I read the reviews (not great) but bought one anyway. She has slept in it every night the past month and a half. It usually comes out in the living room with her in the mornings. She has it on as I type. ;) Since she has used it everyday, the silky part of the tail is trashed but everything else has held up. I debated making one myself or buying one on etsy, but just went with the commercial one. I am actually going to get the 5yr old one for her birthday in a few weeks.

I can't imagine it would be too horrible to try and make.... at least the body would be pillow-esqe work. I think the fins would be the hardest for me. I'm a really basic sewer.

So far I have made it 1:20 through of Suicide Squad. I have yet to see any semblance of a coherent story.

I head after Batman V Superman, they made a bunch of last minute changes and destroyed the cohesion of the movie before it was released. It was a mess. My BIL got the extended version on his VUDU account (which we share) but I haven't mustered up the courage to watch MORE of that movie yet. I'm a little curious to see if they cut scenes that would have made the story flow better, though.

IMO, they really focused way too much on Will Smith and Margot Robbie. Diablo was the most interesting character in that movie as he was the only one on the team with a legitimate superpower and a good backstory. And the under-used him. Oh, and Jared Leto's Joker was just f-ing weird and annoying. I sorta feel bad for someone having to play that role after Heath Ledger, though.

Dvr'd it this wknd and was gonna watch it until I saw you guys talking **** about it.

Watching Sausage Party instead. I should've got some pot before watching

It had the look of a classic stoner flick, but it looked like it could be good for a few laughs. No bueno?

How do companies have a website where their support page is so awful? Since my Android updated last week, I can't get a wireless data connection. I go to the Sprint website and start clicking on all their support questions. It gets down to data connection not working and it sends me to a page saying to verify my data connection is working and if not click here which just starts with the exact same questions. There is supposed to be a support chat available but I sure can't find it.

Anxiously awaiting the inevitable "switch to <insert carrier here>" response.

I'm late to the tipping question from the weekend, but I actually tip for take out. When my wife bartended at a restaurant many moons ago, they made them box the food, verify the orders, get the utensils and take care of the pickup when the customer arrived.

It took away from her other work and tips. Plus many cooking staffs get their wages supplemented with tips. Just because the food doesn't get served in the restaurant doesn't mean they aren't still working.

It may only be a few bucks, but I'll throw something on there.

If it's a place that specializes in take-out (pizza, Chinese food, Chipotle or other semi-fast food, etc) then I usually don't. I assume they have their fees built into their prices already.

Their customer service almost made me switch when I had issues with my S2. It's non-existent. I'd go to a store and talk to someone in person if you can. I'd recommend making an appointment to save time. The ones down here in KC are usually pretty quick.

I've always had really good luck with their stores. I would have switched otherwise.

I went into the store when they opened. They punched in one of their secret codes that disconnected my phone from the network. Then had it reconnect and register and it's working again. Took 5 minutes.
Another guy that was there had a brand new phone that he just picked up. His other phone had gotten on of those messages about "you've been hacked, click here to fix" and of course he clicked. They told him his screen was broken and so he went ahead and got a new phone. The broken screen was the screen protector. Not sure why he never actually checked to see what was broken. They also told him if he had clicked that other thing he would need to do a factory reset to get it back to normal. He decided to stay with the new phone, so Sprint won that battle.

That's been my experience as well. The people that work at the stores seem to have their **** together. I have one five minutes from my house. I can drive there, get it fixed and be back home before I'd get off hold at Sprint's customer service call center.

Walmart has the 100 piece multi color clear Magna Tiles set for $64.95. That is considerably less than what I have been seeing. Great niece turns three soon, but that is still more than I usually spend on the great nieces and nephews. Dropping it here for any of the toddler parents though.

I googled that code and found it on their support page. Not sure why their support page didn't point me towards that when I clicked that I couldn't connect to Sprint Data. I took a screen print and filed it for future reference.

I kind of dig this idea. No one else would get those I bet, and her dad likes to build stuff as a hobby. For Christmas, the only things they put on her list were dolls and doll stuff. Then they kind of complained about all of the dolls and doll stuff.

My daughter always loved the toys I had when I was a kid over anything new that's been put out. We played with Lincoln logs and tinker toys a bunch. Pretty much anything you can choke on. One of her favorite toys was something I grabbed from my parents house when they moved to town:

It has a drawbridge, a staircase that moves to reveal a secret hiding place, a trap door leading to a dungeon and a spring loaded flag on the top of one of the towers was always used to mete out justice to villains. I played with that thing for countless hours as a kid and father.
