Not as good and barred from accepting a gift - even for someone else - by statute. Preferred tickets are considered a gift even if paid for but not regularly available that way to the general public. Just ask some of the Twin Cities posters about the stink lately over the suites at some of our local stadia.Really? But our mutual friend got me access to 6th row for George Strait. I had chicken pox as a senior in high school. Generally as people start to get that old it hits them harder and harder. I only had about 10 pox on my entire body and it wasn't bad at all. So does that increase, decrease or not affect my chances of getting GR8's disease?
Didn't realize you weren't working for a private firm. Obviously, different rules apply in the public sector.

I was still in diapers when I had CP so I don't remember it at all. With my boys, I dropped them off at their preschool one morning. Around noon I got a call from the school..."have your boys ever had chicken pox?"...ummmm, no..."well, they do now. Come get them." Older was almost 4, younger had just turned 2. Older kid had some spots on his torso & inner thighs, but the younger one lit up with the rash, EVERYWHERE. Including on his toes. He had to sleep with gloves on, and with me wrapping my arms around him to keep him from scratching. Couldn't stop all of it, so he has several little divot scars on his temples (hidden by his hair) and a few on his arms & legs where he kept scratching the scabs off when my back was turned.

Got home from track meet, parents and kids happy to have a week off. Son walk s in the door and said, the coach is trying to get into a meet Friday about 1 1/2 hours away. Prom is Saturday also. Coach has taken his top runners and ran them into the ground, they are shot and need a break. Even the JV kids are limping so there isn't even replacements for an event here or there.

Youth sports are scary. So much pressure to be great at such a young age. Coaches get pressured to succeed and push kids too hard while they are still developing.
One of the best things I've heard was from my daughter's track coach. He said, "To play a sport, kids don't need coaches. They don't need uniforms. They don't need their parents. Kids can play just fine on their own."
My daughter has (mostly) loved PE this year. There is a "new" PE teacher (seasoned teacher, but first year in our district and first year of PE). She loosely follows the other PE teacher's curriculum but some days she just lets the kids make up their own games. They come up with creative stuff and have much more fun.
It had something like "FEATURING NALLEN ON PAGE 3" all in caps to spite him. It was a really juvenile move. I'm hoping the mods clean up that whole thread. That thread went all in with petty bickering for awhile. Calling out a poster like that was not cool.
My son gets to take weight lifting or PE. Problem is, pe teacher only knows curls and squats. The "weight lifting coordinator" also only knows weight gaining. Has kids packing on weight and taking too many supplements and has now created a heavy slow team. My son has him mad because he is listening to me that speed kills in every sport and he's staying trimmer than in the past.
Any time Birdy. No cookies required at this point. My post tax season ritual usually involves reconnecting with my workouts and eating really carefully. Time to leave the fat tax corgi (to sort of borrow Boxster's phrase) behind once more!
