Lawman, I think last minute shoebox deserves the extension treatment.
Finally got the two state kid done last week. He wondered why his federal refund was so big, pointed out his real job withholding was probably high since he only had the job about half the year. But he's happy with the money and has big plans for it already.

You're too nice. Unless that friend is adept at reciprocating with something similar (painting some rooms, fixing a car, etc) that friend is taking advantage of you IMO. Knowing how much I paid to have my taxes done, I would never consider asking a friend to do it for free.
Asking someone to help do yard work, build a fence, install a garage door opener, etc is different because it's assumed both parties are chipping in some labor. Your situation seems really one-sided, and their lack of organization to assist shows disrespect.

Some of my family is coming into KC in a few weeks. It's sorta impromptu. The issue is that we take so damn long to make the simplest decisions that if plans aren't made, a ton of time is wasted discussing things and trying not to hurt anyone's feelings. The last few times this has happened, I've had to take the reins to organize events, meals, church, etc.
I'm trying to get out ahead of things this time and get a good head count, arrival times and departure times so I can chip away at it. I sent out an E-mail asking people to reply to all so I didn't have to deal with a bunch of side conversations and piece it all together.
First sister chimes in. "Here's when we leave, daughter won't be with us, here's when we leave." Cool.
Second sister (one that also lives in the KC area and could help) chimes in - only to me. "Here's my opinion about some of the things you listed and why certain things won't work. And no, I didn't want to offer any alternatives, I'm just voicing my complaints."
I'm resisting the urge to copy/paste her E-mail and reply to all with my reply.

Also congrats on getting real beer in grocery stores!
I think I've purchased beer at our grocery store twice in the past 20 years (likely Dos Equis). There is a nicely stocked liquor store next door to them that has been the beneficiary of several of my dollars, however. I'm curious to see how much the grocery stores around here expand their beer selection.

Id say " Jennifer" emailed me and said that many of my ideas won't work. So, I have decided it's best to let her plan everything, so please email her all the pertinent information and she will organize.

I remember last fall when my torso had a nice V shape to it. At some point this winter, someone swiped my upper case V and replaced it with a lower case b. I've managed to whittle it down to a lower case l, but I still have work to do.

Holy ****, both packages arrived at 9 this morning.
Yea, the last 5-6 years have not been kind to me. I used to work out after work pretty much every day. Treadmill or Bowflex. At 50 I was in great shape.
Then I got hurt and needed surgery so I couldn't work out so I filled that time with going to happy hour and then usually ended up picking up a bag of death on the way home. By the time I had the surgery and recovered I was enjoying drinking more than working out so it really went downhill. In February I decided enough was enough and got back onto the treadmill. I still need to do a better job with my diet. After I get home from mom's in June I plan on working the Bowflex back into the routine.
I simply cannot fathom the amount of chutzpah it takes to burn down a historical bridge, then show up in the aftermath and be interviewed about the "tragedy" by the local news...
This. As someone who people think can get them tickets to events but can't I get really tired of the asks and don't ask other people for favors in their line of work because I can't reciprocate.
