I'm not trying to single anyone out, but I never get the big appeal about boasting about how long you waited to turn the heat/AC on. If I'm cold, I turn the heat on. When I'm hot, the AC goes on. That's why I have it. I want to be comfortable in my house. To me it's like bragging about how late at night I can wait to turn the lights on in my house.

It was really more of a "darn, winter is actually coming" thing. I've had my AC off and no heat for the past month or so and the lower electric bill is nice.

Mrs00 is always cold, and I've told her that I'd run the furnace at 90 if she'd run around in yoga shorts....she hasn't taken me up on the offer.

this really isn't the same, but this made me think of when my awful roommate in Freddy would fight with me over the heat. I wanted it at like, 68, and she was turning it down to about 60 because she was too hot.

I honest to God did my homework in a sweatshirt, hat, and gloves with a blanket over my lap.

And then she'd be in a tank top and shorts and still be warm.

That was probably because she weighed like 300lbs though.

Other roomie (the 4th moved out at Christmas because she couldn't stand the first roommate) would go sleep at her boyfriend's a lot because she was too cold as well.

That, I understand, but that wasn't what I was referring to.

I meant the guys that say, "What, you turned the heat on already? It's only 35 degrees out. You *****."
Oh yeah, that's dumb, and hopefully I haven't come across like that in here. A big reason for me is that my apartment stays warmer, and it's older and uses radiators and I just don't want to turn them on yet.

Just realized I went over 4000 posts a little bit ago, which puts me at about a quarter to a fifth of most everyone else on here.

I realize I joined much later, but thanks for making me feel like I'm not the only one with a problem!

My roommate in the dorms was an extreme just as I was. Problem was we were both opposites. He'd like the room to be at 80 and I liked it at 60. I just can't sleep in a warm place. I think my dad rubbed off on me a bit too.

Not at all, more of a social commentary about my work.

I was all "pics or it didn't happen" until I read the next line.

Our apartment holds heat in really well. The down side is that we have to usually turn on the AC for a bit if it gets too warm. Sometimes even if we are comfortable the upstairs is a 10+ degree difference too. Thankfully, Z still has sleepers so I know she'll be fine with just a blanket.

I am excited for her new sets of pjs though. We found this old frog print one. By old, I think it is a 70's color green and pink flowers.

I think that's what made me think of it. 00 talking about his wife walking around like that and it made me remember how I did NOT want my roommate doing that. Obviously I don't think Mrs. 00 has the same physicality.

in the spring and fall he would sleep at our place too. It could have been the heat or maybe it was the tank top roomie's loud flesh-slapping at 6am with the drug dealer boyfriend.

Multiple possibilities.

some friends said they had an old man living below them for the past few years who loved it nice and warm. Said it was great in the winter because they hardly had to turn the heat on, but they'd have the AC on all summer.

Did sex just get referred to as flesh slapping?

I'm going to the basketball and football games this weekend. <---- The truest fan of all.
You win.

I probably won't see either game as my son is having a birthday party tomorrow night at our house and I am volunteering for the confirmation overnight event at our church from 1:30-7:00 so I will probably be sleeping during the football game. <-------Not true fan.
