Well it would appear the blame train is running off the rails today. Blame the coaches! Blame the players! Blame the fans! Blame my dog! Everyone gets some blame! Its like a car crash.....I want to stop looking but......I cant....
So I know it's annoying hearing the pitch, but I just gave blood and if you have time and aren't deathly afraid of needles please consider donating. And if you have extra time/are eligible, please consider donating double red cells. It's really easy and can really help people who need it

Good for you, and I agree! I wish I could donate blood. I have tried 4 times, passed out 3 times, decided to hang it up. I think it's because I naturally have pretty low blood pressure, drop beyond that does it for me? Fine all the way thru, but no matter how long I sit there, get up and go over to the rest table, I'm out.
I donated plasma from 2004 - 2014 in Ames. Quite the scar on my arm, plasma stitches saved my grandfather's life in 2010.
I donated plasma off and on for a year or so when I was at ISU. I donated about a dozen times this summer while I was searching for extra cash. It seems like the more often I go, the more complicated (and uncomfortable) my donation becomes. I can only stand going in a few times in a row where the tech misses my vein and has to adjust it or scratch that side and try the other arm. My veins just don't seem to pop out very well and are tough to stick.
I really should donate blood more instead, even though I won't get paid for it. I'm O neg (universal donor) and giving blood is way easier than plasma, IMO.

Double red cells. And it's a longer time between donations so you don't need to donate as often. But yeah, I think you've done your bit. I'm impressed you tried four times

Do you get the option to just stay there during the weekends? Or do you have to go home every weekend?
I really wanted to be one of those people who does it regularly. My mom was a multi gallon donor, there was a regular donation event in our town growing up, she'd walk up from her job and donate. Passed out twice at isu, two donations at work, one without passing out, last one I did.
I can stay there over the weekend. Definitely on my own dime though but I could work with the person in charge of the project to be able to do it on the company's dime. Sometimes they agree, sometimes they don't. I have lots of people in Charlotte that I can crash on the couches of though.
