I honestly wish I could have gone further in Spanish. I took 2 years of it in HS, but my 2nd year teacher was horrible and a pushover, I got a B in it with barely learning anything. I knew I'd be hosed if I went another year, and I had enough to be cool with college without it.

Speaking Italian to a chick will get you laid. Speaking science to one (generally) won't.

I honestly wish I could have gone further in Spanish. I took 2 years of it in HS, but my 2nd year teacher was horrible and a pushover, I got a B in it with barely learning anything. I knew I'd be hosed if I went another year, and I had enough to be cool with college without it.

I took 2 years of Spanish in high school and a year of French at ISU. Can't speak a lick though. I can understand some, but can't communicate it back.

I've often thought the same about a few different languages. I would've tried Rosetta Stone a few times by now if it weren't so crazy expensive.

Besides, I didn't impugn the speaking of different languages, only when it evolved into a discussion of the origin of said languages. Pretty sure that ain't dropping panties any more than science.
