Racist Hawk fans at it again

Of course. Point it out as it occurs. Draw and quarter the wind bag for all I care.

You are correct about context also. Nobody except those 3 people know what happened prior to the incident. Maybe it’s only 2 people, because the driver doesn’t want any part of it.

I do disagree with the last part though. She wasn’t called a racist prior to making the racist comments, at least from what I remember from the video. Her actions were categorized, and at the time, given the lack of context, there is no evidence of “white privilege”. I still don’t think there is evidence of that.

But it turned out the woman whose car was backed into was 100% correct and actually quite reserved to accuse that woman of white entitlement rather than to have simply called a racist a racist.

So much wrong here. Obviously it was just a FUBAR'd situation that went from bad to unacceptable quickly.

Yes alcohol was involved but still: stone sober or flat drunk, regardless it was easily avoidable.

It was pretty clear by the video that the driver had established a civil relationship with the videographer. There was chipping going on between the videographer and the passenger and it was clear no good was going to come from that hostile environment. For the love of use your head! Open the door, walk up to the videographers vehicle (thus seperating the 2 fighting individuals) then proceed to thumb through your phone for your insurance information. Exchange information, apologize for the accident, then go home.

Or better yet for the passenger. Regardless of if you are infact a closet racist or not. When you ask the question of "are you recording me?" and the videographer replies "yes" with her phone in the air. That is your cue to STFU immediately. Regardless if you think you are right or wrong. It's not like it was a secret recording, it was blatantly obvious your altercation was being recorded.

Unbelievable. This fire was so easily avoidable.

I took it to mean from the country India, but you may be right. She probably was talking about native American.
Christopher Columbus would be proud of the 500 year old mistake he made is still driving racism in America.

So if I get drunk and hit your car twice (the action you say is saintly), call you a racial slur, then say you aren’t an American, and your response is to 100% accurately identify what kind of person I am…we’re both equally bad?

My friend you have some crippling insecurity in your soul.

The need to create inequality or equality of bad is both mindless and pointless. They're both bad. Why rank them?

But the comment does not justify the response in any way, even if the term white privilege is being used unfairly. If one of my daughters calls their sister a name, and the response is sister tries to hit her with a golf club (really happened), guess who gets in WAY more trouble. These actions are not equivalent, and the fact that there are a lot of people out there that fail to understand this is really sad.

There doesn't need to be an equivalence. They're both bad. Whether or not anyone agrees with your ranking is pointless. Neither person is "in the right".

Oh, ok. So bad is bad. Steal a pack of gum or shoot someone in the head, both are bad and it is pointless to try and differentiate between the two. Do you realize how achingly stupid your take is?

If it was on the street, it is required to call the cops. We have no idea what happened in regards to cops being called or anything.

That's only true if there is a death, injury or damage over $1500.

You should definitely get a police report, but it is not necessary required.

There are some that believe that it wasn't a mistake at all by Columbus. He had a charge to do a job - find an alternate route to the Indies. He could go back and tell his benefactor anything he wanted because they had no way of checking him. He may have very well known he hadn't succeeded but just told the royals that he had succeeded so he could continue to get backing and ships. Some say Columbus was kind of an ass even in Europe.

I always figured it was more like this. He had to know it was at least a totally different area and culture than East Indies that were known.

If I get hit I'm always calling the cops to get a police report. Not leaving it up to the whims of an insurance person.

As an insurance professional, I thank you for this. Too many times, our insureds don't call the police because "it's going to take too long" or "I got their information, so it's fine." Ugh. That does not help me in investigating your claim.

You’re a better person than the passenger in this video (of which I had no doubt), but that is precisely the point.

A person keeps prodding and prodding, a reaction should be expected. Just like that Oklahoma QB who got his ass kicked in the bathroom a while back.

Again…I am NOT excusing the woman for her ugly remarks. All I’m saying is, ******** should expect a response.

Do you think it's more likely the woman in the car said something racist, which provoked the woman to start recording her, or that the woman who's car was hit thought, "I think I'm going to start recording and mention white privilege just in the off chance the woman will react with a racist tirade."? Based on the conversation at the start of the video, it's clear there was something said before she started recording.

These days, (most of the time) the police won't show up unless injuries are involved. Up here in Minny, they are short on cops, so they don't come out for small fender benders.

Clearly your need to inject a gun into the debate to prove your non-point ranks your reply as predictable and pointless.

Both people acted without care for the other person and felt the need to spike the football in a blatantly racist way. Whether you view one as more racist than the other is rather childish and pointless.

Why get cops involved? So you can be absolved of guilt and the other person gets to pay a ticket on top of possible bills to tow and fix both vehicles, and their premiums going up? I like to take care of it without involving law enforcement, whenever possible.

It is good to have a police report right away. Stories sometimes have a way of changing over time and having a police report and a law officer as witness to the state and location of the vehicles and state of the parties involved can be very useful.
