Racist Hawk fans at it again

These days, (most of the time) the police won't show up unless injuries are involved. Up here in Minny, they are short on cops, so they don't come out for small fender benders.
Had the same experience in Iowa. I can’t remember dollar amount they said in dispatch. They were just too busy to show and really just wanted to make sure we got our cars out of traffic. Guy that ran a red light managed to hit two cars. Lots of people stopped with contact info if we needed witnesses. It was fine although us and the other car he hit underestimated our damages. Dude that hit us was reaching for his burrito in the back seat.

Do you think it's more likely the woman in the car said something racist, which provoked the woman to start recording her, or that the woman who's car was hit thought, "I think I'm going to start recording and mention white privilege just in the off chance the woman will react with a racist tirade."? Based on the conversation at the start of the video, it's clear there was something said before she started recording.
I would think there had to have been something before this to provoke the woman to start recording. Otherwise, the white privilege comment doesn't make sense in the context of the conversation.

Clearly your need to inject a gun into the debate to prove your non-point ranks your reply as predictable and pointless.

Both people acted without care for the other person and felt the need to spike the football in a blatantly racist way. Whether you view one as more racist than the other is rather childish and pointless.
So someone telling a white person they benefit from white privilege is equivalent to a white person telling a person of color they don't belong in this country?

So much wrong here. Obviously it was just a FUBAR'd situation that went from bad to unacceptable quickly.

Yes alcohol was involved but still: stone sober or flat drunk, regardless it was easily avoidable.

It was pretty clear by the video that the driver had established a civil relationship with the videographer. There was chipping going on between the videographer and the passenger and it was clear no good was going to come from that hostile environment. For the love of use your head! Open the door, walk up to the videographers vehicle (thus seperating the 2 fighting individuals) then proceed to thumb through your phone for your insurance information. Exchange information, apologize for the accident, then go home.

Or better yet for the passenger. Regardless of if you are infact a closet racist or not. When you ask the question of "are you recording me?" and the videographer replies "yes" with her phone in the air. That is your cue to STFU immediately. Regardless if you think you are right or wrong. It's not like it was a secret recording, it was blatantly obvious your altercation was being recorded.

Unbelievable. This fire was so easily avoidable.
You are saying this as if Hawkeyes let alone drunk Hawkeyes can think reasonably. I suppose the guy could have been so drunk that he couldn't walk straight therefore not wanting to incriminate himself further.

What I don't get is that whether or not you would normally call the police in a fender bender when you realize the other person is drunk and possibly not in any condition to be driving in the first place there should be no question about calling the police. You could be saving someone else's life not just a fender bender.

I didn't say they were equivalent. I said ranking them is pointless. They are both wrong. Both should STOP IT. One does not justify the other, nor does either come out looking like a winner. We should celebrate neither because neither acted like adults.

Maybe. We frankly don't know what happened before the young lady turned her camera on. She could have been totally justified in how she was responding. What I do know is there is no excuse for what the racist old bag said. So all the hand wringing over "Well everyone was at fault here" is just excusing racist remarks IMO.

All we know is something caused this person to get their phone out. They weren't recording the whole conversation. Then one person said racial slurs. That's it. I we don't know if the other side did anything AT ALL.

We'll have to agree to disagree then. You can clearly rank the two. It's not even close. If someone is this triggered by someone else pointing out white privilege, then they need to take a long look at themselves.

I think you and I watched a different video.

There was an accident they were involved in and it is mentioned to record or take pictures of everything. That could have been the reason to start recording.

Well there is a license plate number in the video. I'm pretty sure your address is registered with the vehicle. There is a pretty easy way for the authorities to clear up who that is. The important thing is it an issue for the authorities. Ruining someone's life by linking them to something like this on social media if you aren't absolutely sure - without a doubt - it is them is a **** move and those who do it should be held responsible.

Once that genie is out of the bottle it is impossible to put back in. She could be cleared and then 5 or 10 years from now have someone do a social media search when she is applying for a job and have it all come up without the eventual clearing coming up.

I still think it would be pretty easy to explain away

Yes, but many times something like that makes a prospective employer steer away before they even invite someone for an interview. You may never get a chance to explain it away because you may never know they saw it or that it was the reason your resume' ended up in round file.

Everybody knows you should keep your burritos in the front seat.
