Question for Iowa fans

2018 vs 2019 is apples and oranges. The first four games (excluding the cancelled game) our offense was a trainwreck for the most part due to QB and line play. Purdy came in at game 5 and our offense changed quite a bit. As CW has said a number of times though, Campbell relied on Montgomery a lot because he trusted him to get the tough yards and not fumble. That led to a bit more conservative play calling. Couple that with the fact that Purdy was a true freshman, and the offense wasn't exactly exotic. Serviceable, but nothing great. We have much more consistency on offense this year, and that has a lot to do with consistent QB play and returning a lot of experience. Our line has also improved from last year, even including the clunker they had down in Waco. Also, don't discount the impact Manning has had on this group this year.

Would this team be better with Butler and Montgomery? Absolutely. But if you made me choose between 2018's offense and 2019's I'd choose 2019 10 out of 10 times.

Not sure what is more pathetic. The hoks that have lived on this site for a decade with one username or the hot take trolls with like 10 different handles. They are much more similar than they like to think.

I also think it's hilarious that some of them come on here spouting "no you're quarterback stinks" after their quarterback had a pathetic game and our QB is being talked about by national media members. Lol

I read Nate Stanley's record vs ranked teams is extremely poor.

~ And Iowa hasn't beat a ranked team on the road since 2015

~ This includes several seasons without Ohio St, Michigan, Mich State, or Penn St on the schedule at various times
