YES. Great concept. "Take Cover" could have some serious marketing potential. I could totally see this with either punching Cy or a revised version of the written-Iowa State-and-swirly-cyclone 80's logo

I'm not really a big fan of teams wearing different jerseys all the time. I'm a bigger fan of teams that have the same jerseys they have had for years. Teams like Ohio State, Texas, Oklahoma, USC, etc just look clean and intimidating. Don't mess with tradition.
However, these jerseys are just plain awesome. I do like throwback jerseys especially ones with the amount of meaning that Jack Trice throwbacks have. It would be a great honor to the man to wear jerseys like that.
Also, I love Take Cover as a motto, more than All In or Swarm and Punish (this is on the back of the players practice shorts). I thought they should have done something with "Loyal sons, forever true" or "Hit hard, every yard" or "every yard for ISU" something like that from our fight song. I love Take Cover and how it plays to our cyclone team name like the tornado siren. Very cool ideas guys.
so is there anyway one of us could email Nike and tell the the story of Jack Trice? i know it's a long shot, but hey worth a shot.
This needs to be done. I would like to see it worn for every home game of the season in 2015(if that's 40 years for the stadium). Funding would he no problem because I am positive they could sell every uniform to fans for the price the university paid or even more. I would buy one in a heartbeat.

A story like Jack Trice's deserves a real letter, sent snail-mail.

I really really REALLY like that take cover slogan! I tried my hand at putting one together, we'll see what you guys think.
If someday we ever get a legit tunnel to come out of (doubtful I know), I think this would be an awesome sign to hang above the entrance. Similar to the tunnel at Kinnick that says Iowa Football with the Nike checkstroke. Anyone really good with photoshop that could make that one up? Maybe photoshop isnt powerful enough to erase that kind of awful from a picture...

Honestly, I would put together a well written email and add a few pictures as well. That may be the best way to explain your thoughts and ideas. I'm sure he gets an absurd amount of emails a day, but its worth a shot!
