Principal Financial-Remote work

Damn, they saw you coming.
Pay was decent and benefits were solid. You just become efficient and when you want to blast out fast you can do it most times. The 100 hours was usually a couple weeks during the middle quarters of the year. Would add a second shift for a specific project and hit Saturdays too. Work through that and then I could basically set my hours many weeks. Work a couple 12s so you can leave early on Thursday and be gone Friday.

100 hours is over 14 hours per day, 7 days a week. That's working from 7:00am to 10:00 pm every day.

I'm not saying people don't work 100 hours in a week, but that's a lot of hours to work.
Yeah, I was a young engineer on the road in strange cities. It was work 12-15 hours a day or go out and get in trouble. I chose work (most of the time). And yes, I did work Sat and Sun too, but would cut those days down to 10-12 hours. And yes, I was salary (and low salary since I was young/new to role). I was single but had a GF back home that I didn't cheat on. And this was all pre-internet, so when I was in working, I was actually working, not spending time online.

I did it for a period of time in my late 20s. Took what's called a "camp job" where you live in dorms on the construction site because it's so remote. I worked 7 days a week from 5:30am to 8pm for 21 to 24 days straight. Then got a flight home and a week off. Rinse and repeat for a year. Sucked because I basically had no personal life but they bumped my pay by 50% during that period which paid off my student loans.

Ran 2 shifts. I showed up at 7 am and left at 1 am M-F. Saturday it was show up at 5:30 am and left at 3 pm (ran one shift that day)

My worst was about 15-20 years ago. In fall I added up the hours of sleep I had one week and it totaled 14. I was hopped up (did not know a person could go that hard). I worked 20 hours days and had over an hour drive round trip to get there. The next year I sold that equipment and started hiring it done. Cost a chunk but I was going to kill myself and/or someone else if I did that much longer.

Only way you could cheat was bang a co-worker on your lunch break.
