Potential Transfers '14

It'll be interesting to see some of your opinions after the NBA changes the one and done rule making it that you have to be 20 to enter the draft.

That can't happen until 2017 I believe anyways, since that is when the collective bargaining agreement ends, so you're going to be waiting a while.

Ok people can we stop the Georges Nerlens thing? Georges ended up being a top 10 scoring big in the country who is completely unique. We are very fortunate to have him and to have gotten in on him so early.

We are not getting another Georges Niang, ever. It's not going to happen.

Not exactly parallel, but didn't something similar happen with Hogue. Weren't we first looking at McKay? Then we saw Hogue. None of us projected him to be such a strong contributor, but he brings a unique approach to the game. McKay may be the player with better NBA potential, but Hogue has become a beast in college.

yeah but sophomore Ellenson better than Freshman Ellenson. Each year that investment grows. Plus, when a player goes early you really only have time for a transfer. To me you leave a leave 1 or 2 schollies each year for the elite talent or transfers and 1 or 2 for the 30-100 type player I say a combination of Ellensons, transfers and a Diallo or 2 is the way to a championship. Experienced talent plus some young elite talent that will bloom in march. Which seems to be exactly what a Fred is thinking. In other words a false choice.

Of course you want some experienced players and some talented players but it is much, much easier to get a player who is good and play them till they are experienced than it is to get someone as talented as Diallo, who is a top 5 or so talent in the country.

And what if Diallo were to come back for a 2nd year? It's actually probably more likely than not.

Yeah I think so. Good thing too because Hogue has turned out to be a stud.

Between Atwood and Huff, Iowa will probably land one of those two. They still need help in their backcourt unless this Dickerson ends up being better than expected.

Couple of update tweets about Chiles and Wesley who have been mentioned in this thread previously.
Guess ISU has cooled any intrest in either at this point after B Djean-Jones commitment.

I'll be interested to see if Hallice Cooke becomes a legit target in the coming days.
