Possible Bad News

Just to clear things up a bit I'm almost positive Dickson Jensen does not have a private jet. Also, there is a 10th grade girl that plays forward for Ballard that is being recruited by Duke among other schools, Greenfield is her name. No idea if she was there for the UNC game.

Good for him if he goes to Duke, but how many exceptional NBA players had Duke put into the league? They generate some good role-players (Shane Battier, Duhon, Redick, Laetner, ect.) and a couple pros who have had real good years (Brand and Maggette) and Boozer is a top notch player. It just seems to me they bring in top-notch talent from high school and they leave Duke as role players for the most part.

Luol Deng and Dunleavy have been solid pro's

I could care less about Harrison Barnes unless and until he goes to ISU. He goes somewhere else, well, bye. If he goes to ISU, great. It really isn't worth getting worked up about or worrying about.

You could care less, but yet you are posting about him? hmm :biglaugh:

Honestly, why are you on a Cyclone website if you don't care about things that can directly impact Cyclone athletics?

Hopefully Harrison commits soon, so that we can see the stages of grief play out on this messageboard, and so our coaching staff can move on with recruiting.

you actually arent far off when thinking that. i would take HB before Ejim, but Melvin Ejim is a tremendous talent that just hasnt had the same exposure.

The problem with Ejim is that he will likely blow up and then get more attention. Good chance at that point more big schools get involved and it becomes much tougher for the Clones. Unfortunately, teams like KU, Florida, Texas, Duke, UNC, etc can get involved at any point and immediately become leaders. Under McDermott, a lot of very talented guys have been offered by Iowa State first (and the Clones were leaders early) only to get passed up by the better programs and ultimately being an afterthought. I hope the Clones stay after Ejim hard, regardless of what Barnes decides.

Stephen Curry is a perfect example of how you can play at a school that's not Duke, UNC, Kansas... and still have major national exposure, tourny time... You just need decent players around you, and to put up numbers like Curry. No reason HB couldn't do that at ISU. He could even be better than Curry if his game reflects his class rankings.

I hope we put all our recruiting efforts into Ejim and not Barnes. He is not coming here and Ejim would better suite our team by staying 3-4 years. Just my opinion.

Question: What's the quickest way out of the NBA?
Answer: Go to Duke and get coached by coach K.

Question: What's the quickest way to make the NBA?
Answer: Go to UNC and get coached by whoever they have there. It don't matter who's there, you'll still have a long NBA career.

Let's face it guys. The only reason he hasn't commited to Duke yet is because he knows that the entire town of Ames is going to hate him when he does. He's going to wait until the basketball season is over after his senior year (March or April '10) and then commit to Duke and then leave this town shortly after.

Duke wont have a spot for him if he waits that long.

I wouldn't hate the kid for going to Duke or UNC. But if he chose kansass, I'd be the first one to boo him when he came back to Hilton.

I'm pretty sure he'll get a lot of crap if he doesn't go to State, I'd think the oppurtunity to help turn around a program in your hometown would keep him in Ames.

I doubt he commits to ISU. I've accepted that "fact." Would love to have him come as the hometown hero... boy that would be a fun ride.

But unless we go on a winning streak to end this season... Harrison is going to pick the big boys.

When Barnes informs KU that he's going to Duke Self will offer Ejim and we're hosed.
