I find it hilarious that you people think that he is gone, out of our reach. No one but his mother, sister and probably his gf know what he is thinking. It's just plain funny to me to read what you all "think" he is doing. It's obvious what he is doing. He is milking his recruitment for all its worth. If I were him, I would jump at the opportunity to go to Duke/UNC as well and I would wear the Duke shirt in support. If it was at the Dean Dome, I'm sure he would wear Carolina Blue. He wore a Kansas shirt when he was down there too. I'm sure he has his favorites right now, and I will say that ISU is up there; otherwise he would have said no thanks already...but then again I don't have a clue what he is thinking.

I wasn't saying that he is out of reach, because it seems like he has a great relationship with the staff and players, which he most likely wouldn't have if he didn't live in Ames. All I was saying that is that you can't blame him for wanting to play for a HOF coach and who has won multiple National Championships and has his team on national t.v. almost every game.

Some people on here seem to think that since he grew up in Ames, he should automatically go to ISU.
 
Maybe Jensen is doing some "reverse" recruitment on Harrison. Using his jet, as an ISU booster, to let him partake in this recruiting fiasco and show him that even ISU has some guys with pull and money.

I don't see Jensen, with his ties to ISU, wanting to funnel Barnes elsewhere. So maybe it was a nice gesture that in a way will work out for us.
 
I understand that and I wasn't taking a shot at you. I just can't understand why people are giving up on him already. He has said nothing and will continue to do so until he feels the need to commit. From what I understand that will be either late summer or early fall.

OK, I did not know about the relationship between Jensen and HB before today.

Was HB a big reason Jensen sprung for the new practice facility?
 
Haha, how interesting. If Jensen really did pay for him to go to the Duke/Carolina game in his private jet..well...looks like ISU is taking off the gloves and playing some dirty tricks of its own.
 
isn't harrison dating a girl that is going to iowa state for basketball or something like that? i thought i remember talking about it last year but i just wasn't sure. if that's the case it certainly wouldn't hurt our chances at landing him.

The writing was on the wall a really long time ago when he said he wanted to go somewhere with a really good business school... Duke makes a lot of sense for HB. Wish he would have stayed, but in his shoes I would have done the same thing. It's easy to switch allegiances to a school when you're picking out the college you're going to. I was a hawk fan (shudder) until I chose to go to ISU for architecture...
 
Dickson Jensen isn't a Duke booster, so I don't think there is anything wrong if he flew him down there.

His pre-existing relathionship has nothing to do with it.

W/ that said I seriously doubt that Jensen flew him and the girl down there.

I thought I read that rumor here but it might have been somewhere else. I could be way wrong too. I'm pretty sure the gal from Huxley went too so there could be something to it. Either way, since it's puke and not ISU, I'm sure they have their ways of getting around possible recruiting transgressions.
 
I wish he would just get his recruitment over and committ to Duke or UNC so we can move on. I wouldn't be upset if he went to one of those two. Heck, I won't be upset with anywhere he chooses, EXCEPT kansass.

He is just going to absolutely smash the hopes and dreams of a lot of Cyclone fans. But hopefully he is happy wherever he is.
 
Good for him if he goes to Duke, but how many exceptional NBA players had Duke put into the league? They generate some good role-players (Shane Battier, Duhon, Redick, Laetner, ect.) and a couple pros who have had real good years (Brand and Maggette) and Boozer is a top notch player. It just seems to me they bring in top-notch talent from high school and they leave Duke as role players for the most part.
 
I can't blame the kid for wanting to go to Duke. He will be on TV more in Ames with a Duke jersey than if he played for ISU (I've got dish). Also a degree from Duke is worth a little more than a degree from ISU. The only thing that we've got is location. And I can understand the legend thing but maybe his asperations are a little higher than being a god in Ames, IA.

Agreed. Sure Duke has name recognition but in all honesty Duke in recent years has had a real good stretch of blown games in the NCAA tourney to teams they should have beaten even if their starting 5 didn't play a single minute in the game. When was the last time **** Vitale's love interest won it all? That should say alot... I can't even remember Duke's last National Championship team.
