Playstation 3 or XBox 360?

I have both and the 360 gets far more play time. On the subject of controllers, I think the controller for the Xbox is far better for adult sized hands. The PS3 controller feels very tiny by comparison, not to mention that the over all ergonomics and layout are better on the 360.

Yeah, I have both too, and the PS3 sits much more than the 360. I agree about the controller too. It will probably be an easy transition from the PS2 controllers, but it's really hard to go back to that after having a 360.

PS3, not a contest.
This thread needs to be merged with the others.

Get the Xbox 360 slim. Great improvement from the previous model. Getting mine in a couple of days cause my other older 360 RROD on me.

This happened to me a few weeks ago and I just bought a new one on black friday. If you haven't seen the new ones in person yet, they're sweet. Way smaller, built-in wifi, and 500% quieter. I'm almost glad my old one broke.

PS3.. I hear so many stories about 360's crapping out. Red ring, etc...

My PS3 is the first generation. 4 years later, no problems.

i have had my 360 for six years and no problems...and ps3 for a year and it ******* out lol so i dont think thats the case...but honestly 360 is way better IMO

They can do a lot of the same things, but what's different...
- Controller layout and feel
- PS3 has bluray
- 360 can stream espn3 natively
- PS3 has free online play
- Kinect vs Move (you may not want either, you already have a Wii)
- Exclusive games

I like the PS3 myself...bluray + free online play + the exclusives.

I don't know much about PS3 but the 360 with Kinect is pretty awesome online viewing experience. Kind of shows the future of TV viewing. ESPN3 in HD, Netflix movies/shows, ect is so cool. You select what you want by moving your hand around and stopping on the show/game that you want to watch.

PS3: Free online gaming with a Blu-ray player
Xbox 360: Superior online gaming (not free) without a Blu-ray player

Tell me the 10 games you'd like to have and I'll tell you what system to buy. In truth it's really hard to go wrong with either system now that the Xbox has taken care of the death issues. I've had my 60gb PS3 for about 4 years and have never had any issues and have never wished that I would have bought something different. I'm sure there are plenty of 360 owners that feel the same way. I've had the 360 hooked up to my projector and the image quality was about the same for the games that we compared. Each controller is fine once you get used to them. Blu-tooth was a big plus for me since the machine is in another room. As far as Kinect and whatever Sony has, I could car less. I'm 40 (I'm a man), I'm not going to dance around in front of my TV acting like a fool. Plus I couldn't anyway since I have a projector.

i personally would choose the 360. yes the ps3 has blu-ray capabilities and free (i think) online play but the new kinect system for the 360 is pretty sweet. also xbox's online play is far better than that of playstations. id rather pay 60 bucks a year to get decent gameplay then deal with poor online gameplay. both of them have their positives and it all depends on what youre looking for
I have a PS3 and have never had a problem playing online...

I like how this thread is all about the 360 fanboys telling you how bad the PS3 is...well, they don't know what they are talking about.

1.) PS3 has more Triple A exclusives: MGS4, Uncharted 1&2, Resistance 1&2, Ratchet and Clank, GT5, MLB the show, + many more.

2.) PS3 online has improved IMENSELY. The only difference in the online play right now is that XBOX has cross-game chat. Otherwise the experiences are pretty much the same, and the PS3 is free.

3.) PS3 plays Blu-Rays and is one of the best DVD upscalers (if not the best) there is on the market

4.) PS3 has the Move, which is really good for kids who like Wii-esque games. This will make 3rd party Wii developers more apt to bring games to the system. The move will also be incorporated into most Sony First Party First person shooters. The Kinect is for 3-5 year olds to jump up and down. There are no planned serious games for the Kinect.

5.) PS3 works as a fantastic Media player. I stream all my music and videos from my Home PC DLNA share (DLNA is just the media server protocol used)

6.) PS3 is 3D compatible, both in new first party games and for 3D Blu-Rays like Avatar. If your into new technology, this is pretty cool. This is something the XBOX will never be able to do because they are using the old 1.3a HDMI spec for output vs the PS3 using the 1.4 version.

7.) PSP integration: If you have a PSP, this is pretty cool. The PSP can pretty much 'Remote Connect' to the system over the internet. You can play all PS1 games, play music, & watch movies by streaming them from the PS3.

PS3 is the best value you can spend on a console. Seriously, I would pick a PS3 everytime. I hope you do as well, and enjoy it as much as I do!!!

and remote play via your Sony VIAO laptop!!! I love doing that...

No offense, man, but this is the most "fanboy" post in this entire thread.

PS3 also has a built in internet browser. Still uses older version of windows but it's more than my brothers 360 has. Always thought it was kinda funny that a machine built by microsoft can't surf the net for free.

People always counter PS3 having free online gaming by saying its worth it to pay for XBox live because its so much better. Can someone please explain this? What is so different about the online play and why is it worth $50-$60 dollars a year?

well.. firstly, its not usually that much. i can grab a 12 month card for on amazon for 45 right now, ive seen it as low as 30.

secondly, gold includes other things that playstation charges for as well in their playstation plus memberships, that are similarly priced.
