So true, it hurts. To KU, it's just another gym. Which makes it even funnier some on here believe KU is our rival.
14 losses in the record book, add 10-20% for games KU lost but were rigged, you have about 16-17 wins over KU in Hilton since '83. Needs to get better, but not horrendous.
Since Hilton Magic came about after the Barry Stevens game winner against Mizzou in 1983, Kansas has lost 14 times in Hilton Coliseum. Eleven of those times they were ranked in the top 25. What wins they do have, a good chunk of them have been single digit/overtime/screw job wins, even in the "he who shall not be named" era we had a competitive game with KU. To think that KU just has their way with us in Hilton is laughable. I look forward to slapping them around on Saturday. Go Cyclones!
Why would KU fans believe in Hilton Magic? It has rarely worked on them.
I count 7 close games. Oh, and nice stats of the Morgan and McDermott eras, the eras that absolutely erased everything that Johnny, Floyd, and Eustachy had built. So they have a winning record against us in Hilton that time frame then? A good chunk have been close games?
2003, lost by 29
2004, ISU win
2005, lost by 5
2006, lost by 10
2007, lost in OT
2008, lost by 11
2009, lost by 15
2010, lost by 23
2011, lost by 5
2012, won
2013, lost by 12 (in OT)
2014, lost by 7
In the last 12, ISU is 2-10 and KU has won 6 by 10 or more points. It just has not been a place for KU to fear and we have not really been competitive with them. Hopefully that is changing, but the facts are they have owned Hilton for over a decade.

That is the point. You are going back 30 years to try and stake your claim that Hilton Magic is something that KU fans should respect when the fact is, in recent history, the facts have showed otherwise. Sure Morgan and McDermott era sucked, but it isn't as though they did not happen. You have to go back in time longer than the current players have been alive to show a consistent success for ISU over KU in Hilton. That is the whole point of asking why someone would take offense at KU fans not believing in Hilton Magic. It has not applied to them for nearly two decades. This is not a slam of Hilton or of ISU, it is simply pointing out that there has been little or no Magic for ISU against KU in Hilton as of late.
Yes. That's exactly it. Don't be dense.
There is a difference between feeling superior and recognizing the strengths of others. phog.net appears to think any other home court advantage is slight against their place in the world.
I will never understand going to an opponents forum, and then getting upset about what is said on their forum.

So you really expect to go to KUs forum and read glowing testimonials about us and Hilton? Go find threads praising KU or Iowa on CF. I am shocked about how upset people get about hawkeye nation threads and others.
News Alert: all fans wear blinders and believe they are the best and hate their rivals. It's going to happen on HN, PhogAllen, and it happens here too. We love Hilton but not everyone shares our enthusiasm

But you don't have to go back 30 years. If you just go back 4 more years than what you did you get:
1999 Won
2000 Won
2001 Won
2002 Lost by 7
That's 11 close games out of the last 16 including 5 ISU wins and a couple more that went into overtime. That is not going back 30 years, all within the lifespan of even the youngest Jayhawk player and most of them very competitive.
