Former ISU athletes no longer welcome on campus -- Adam Haluska, Sam Mack,......, Phillip Bates.
I nearly threw up from laughing so hard when I read this one. Bravo sir... :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:
I think your forgetting about 1 small thing with the airplane. How does the airplane get any lift from the wings if it is sitting still? No lift from air passing over and under the wings and that plane isn't going anywhere.
If Adam brings his little brother to Ames to play football - He is welcome
If Phillip Bates is wanted by Rhoads - He is welcome
If Sam Mack has any eligibility left (and swears off whoppers) - He is welcome
OK maybe not Sam Mack, but I would take the first two.
Could Bates be coming back? Here are the facts.
1. Bates liked Iowa State, like the players etc.
2. His beef was with promises made by McFarland and Chizik
3. His father created a scene at practice prior to his leaving
4. JP was involved in the episode as it escalated leading to his leaving
5. He left in the middle of the season because he felt he could catch on with a team by leaving early.
6. To come back would make sense in terms of not losing a year of elligiblity
7. There may not be a scholly for him now
8. Rhoads would have to approve him coming back
9. The impact on the rest of the team would have to be looked at.
10.He could not compete for QB spot imo. period.
Bottomline. Chances are he will not be back.

I would LOVE to see what our new OC could do with a talent like PB.
He could be a hybrid type player as a WR. Run reverses, motion into the backfield as a RB, run routes etc. You could also run the Wildcat formation with him or a run/pass option.
He doesnt have to be our starting QB to be happy. Maybe he gets 5-10 snaps a game in that role. Look what Rice did with their TE.
Plus, we really need a #3 QB with some experience.

I think you've mistaken PB for Money Reynolds--who is also taller and faster.
How do you know that? Besides which, I'm reasonably sure Tiller will be getting the spare QB snaps.
