Peter Jok

I play for the iowa attack which is a aau team led by jake sullivan i am on the 14u team along with peter jok or as we like to call him Big Pete anyways Pete is a very very good basketball player he scores alot he gets on us if were not working and he just knows the game if you dont believe im on his team look me up on the attack website my name is cullen hopefully no stalkers

Yes, he is a salesman - the problem I have seen with that first-hand is when he tells parents how talented/skilled their son/daughter is, and then said son/daughter sits on the bench during their high school games. Parents take it out on the high school coach (Hey, Jake told me...") so I wonder how objective he is when talking to parents.

Nothing wrong with being a "salesman"...I don't care what you do, everyone is in "sales"...you have to sell yourself, your ideas, etc.

The highlighted part is par for the course in the world of youth athletics with AAU basketball, select travel baseball, etc. The "coach" is going to continue to pump up the parents and the kids as long as the checks for his services keep rolling in...that is the way it works. To specifically answer your question, I'm quite sure he offers the rose-colored opinion when discussing his paying players and very little objectivity.

Go look at a recent thread I started after reading an article from the WSJ on AAU basketball.

But at the same time, I probably couldn't turn away. I'd have plenty of time, since I think I'll be eliminated pretty quickly. If I'm not, then you guys stink.
 
Ohhh man, when this guy doesn't choose us after us talking about him for even longer than we talked about HB the meltdown is going to be unbelievable! I'd make popcorn now but it'd probably go bad by then.

Oh and my 2 year old son just made a shot from across the living room into his basketball hoop. I'm starting a thread in a minute to talk about his recruitment and how awesome he is at basketball and how he'll look in cardinal and gold in 16 years!
