Percy and SDW already a combined 13-17 from the field and 32 points between the two of them, with 11 minutes left. Glad to see them getiting the opportunity to produce with their new teams. Both good Cyclones.
 
Percy had 25 points and 10 rebounds. SDW with 19. Oakland still has Kahlil Fischer (sp). He had 27 with 12 assists. Decent player, we couldn't quard him well in Hilton last year.

Sherron had 10 boards as well. Eastern Michigan isn't a bad team, and those performances are legit. I'm cheering for Oakland to beat Valpo and make it in the tourney.

If they make it, they will without a doubt be our first round matchup and I am imagining the epic explosion if they beat us!!!! :smile:
 
How to shut down percy gibson... let him catch ball on block, Triple team him, grab the rebound from his botched hook shot
 
More than anything just speaks volumes of how good we've been that these guys couldn't get significant playing time. Glad to see both are doing well

No need to triple team, just don't let him go left/shoot with his left hand. Love the guy but his right arm is there for decorative purposes only.
 
Stopping Percy is much easier than triple teaming him.

Just have one person guard his left side. The dude couldn't work on his right to save his life.

Exactly. I get a chuckle out these "it's easy to stop Percy" posts. Yeah, it may have been easy to stop him when he was at ISU, but that's because the ISU coaching staff had nobody who could coach up the post/interior players (on both on offense and defense).

Seems like the kid has talent, and he found a coach who could help him utilize it. Good for him.

Didn't Ejim win Big 12 POTY at the 4? I know he wasn't your typical 4, but that has more to do with style of play than coaching. Same for Niang, he's done well for himself offensively in the post. Gibson just wasn't a good fit for the offense we played under Fred.

Neither Ejim or Niang were/are traditional post/interior players, while Gibson is more a traditional post. I agree he didn't fit with Hoiberg's style, but Hoiberg also didn't have anybody on staff who could coach up that type of player, so IMO he doesn't deserve the grief he gets on here.
