Pelini

I think Nebraska fans are smart enough to realize that 9 win seasons every year is pretty good and would be hard to replace. The problem for Pelini is that he's such an ******** that it's probably going to cost him his job.

I'm not sure they can get another coach who can do better than 9 wins every year but I'm confident they can get someone to do what Bo has done without embarrassing the program every weekend with his antics.

Well, you need to meet more Nebraska fans.
On the other hand, though, a game like today gets much closer to a real rivalry. They don't take kindly to doing what Iowa did in Memorial Stadium. You're not supposed to win there, and you're not supposed to blow them out. You're supposed to show up, soak in their history with awe, then roll over and die.

So congrats to Iowa for that win today. That will make the rivalry possible, and it's just fun to see people stomp on Nebraska.

You don't understand the bugeaters. With their name and fame, they deserve Championships every year. Maybe karma has come back to bite them in the butt for leaving the Big 12. That's what you get for selling out for a few bucks.:laugh8kb:

the Huskers will be in a bowl game and Pellini's buyout is close to 8 mil. I don't think he gets canned this year.
Nebraska boosters will have no problem coming up with that money. Also, Nebraska isn't a program that is satisfied by just making a bowl game.

Yeah, Nebraska fans still remember the 70s and the 90s. 9 win seasons get coaches canned at NEB.

If i could get 7.5 million for being fired i think i would stop going to work.

If ever there was a time for an unrated/uncensored "Iowa Nice Guy" episode, this is the week.

OR get 2 million to win twice?

7.35 mm is closer to 7 than 8. 10% is 700k+. Not insignificant.

Neb has the $ to pay the buyout and they have plenty of boosters that would be willing to donate more if NE got a different coach.

With the way the big 10 has restructured Nebraska has a real possibility to be dominant again. That division they are going to be in is a joke. Basically beat Iowa and you are playing in the title game. If you can really get it humming you could be a national title contender without having the task of putting together true title contender team simply because you can walk through your division.

He has over a 7 million dollar buyout and it is a brand new AD. Tough spot for a new AD

On the post-game show, I thought I heard them say it would cost $25 million to buy out the staff.

You forgetting about Wisconsin? A team that's owned Nebraska and has been far better than Michigan as of late. But I do agree the division will be more favorable in the long run with Michigan and Michigan State moving to the East. However, Nebraska is never going to be truly dominant like they once were. The new Big Ten West division will still be far better and more competitive than the Big 12 North ever was. There should be a good rotation of Wisconsin, Iowa, and Nebraska splitting division titles as the years go by. If Illinois and Purdue could manage to hire competent coaches they can also compete like they done in the past.

That's just not true. The Big 12 North, at the time the league was formed was stronger than anything the big whatever will ever have.

Colorado, KState, and Neb were really, really good those late Big 8, early Big 12 years.

I can respect Pellini because he never really throws his players under the bus after a game. He'll rip them 8 different ways on the sideline, but after the game seems to always deflect the blame to himself, coaches, etc. That's commendable.

At this point I just don't see BP getting to the top of the Big 10. Changed coordinators on both side of the ball a few years back and there's still something missing. There's just something about that program that's prone to spitting the bit when it comes to getting that BIG signature win. Either through a major *** kicking they receive, or else they go turnover crazy or completely implode somehow late to give the game away. Probably the least clutch 8-9 win team every year. Nice problem to have right?

They totally outplayed MSU, but gave them the game on a silver platter.
Got outplayed by Iowa all game, and still found themselves only down by 7 in the 4th despite lots of turnovers...before further implosion occurred.
