That is almost identical to our family recipe. Frying it in the oil, not just frying it in a little butter in a skillet!French toast the way my momma taught me...one egg, half cup flour and full cup of milk, blended. Dip half slices of bread until coated then fry in a couple inches of oil on medium high heat, turning once. Drain on paper towels. SO good!
Sausage or Bacon and Eggs for me if I had my choice. Skip the waffles and pancakes.

Never understood the egg part. Ive always had it without the egg wash, just used milk. Pretty good, but a good waffle still beats it imo
