OT #2 - E(a)rnest Goes to Camp

You guys must all be kids. Most of the above was stuff my kids watched (Hey Arnold, Gargoyles, etc).

I grew up on the Looney Tunes of course, every saturday morning at 10am. Superfriends. Scooby Doo.

Underdog and Rocky&Bullwinkle were older tho, just reruns on sunday morning...

Rocko's Modern Life deserves a mention along with Doug.

I was in late elementary/middle school so in a way Doug was real relatable.

Side note: one day 10-15 years ago I was on a run and saw a real life doppleganger of Patti from Doug. The hair, extra tan, it was actually super weird.

Foghorn Leghorn was the best.

Looney Tunes (especially the barber of Seville and the one that had “you might rabbit, you might”), Tom and Jerry, Arthur, and the Magic School Bus.

Also, watching this in elementary school at Halloween:

This is one I remember seeing. I'm pretty sure we watched it every year in music during my elementary years.

The other OT thread sort of made me wonder - what entirely earnest cartoons are/were your favorites?

Not adult ones or tongue in cheek. I am talking 100% intended for kids.

Rugrats, Animaniacs, Doug. These were my jam.

When Farnald Degand used to get on the court, Janny and I would say “Hey Faaarnold” to each other literally every time.

What are yours?
I think I've posted this before, but my favorite as a kid was always Roger Ramjet. It was funny. One of my favorite scenes from that show was the following:

(Cue the baritone announcers voice) "And as night fell."
Roger: "Ouch!"
Girl kid: "What happened, Roger?"
Roger: "I stubbed my toe on a dead concrete."

To a kid, that was the height of comedy.

The little girl character (and I forget her name now, but there were four kids, three boys and a girl) used to insult the villain all the time.

Girl: "You have a funny nose."
Villain: "Ouch, kid. You really know how to hurt a guy."

Ain't no way that would fly nowadays. Some helicopter parent would protest that kids should not be shown making fun of other people's deformities and start a petition to get it thrown off the air.

Someone already mentioned Tom & Jerry. If you were to play me just the music & sound effects, I'm going to say greater than 50% I can tell you which episode it is.

Also, when husband and I were just married, we'd come home from our retail jobs and watch Pokemon with no regrets.
