Open Drake job

TJ is welcome to take any job he wants.... just as soon as he gets a 5-star player inked, on campus, and in a game.
 
I suppose if he wants it--but I'd kinda hope that when he DOES leave, it's for something a little better than Drake.

Why on Earth would TJ want to leave for Drake? I understand leaving for a head job. And I understand that job will be at a smaller school. But only one coach managed to make Drake relevant and it lasted for one year. It is arguably the worst job in the MVC. They would have to show me the money to go, if I were him.

TJ will have people interested this year. But there will be many better jobs available at the end of the season.

Fred's Disciples will be getting a lot of attention with this style of basketball.

Yeah, and Drake will expect whoever they hire to work for peanuts and be happy they have a job in the MVC. They wont get or keep anyone good until they decide they want to pay a decent salary.
 
Why take a pay cut? I remember he got a big bump when he stayed with Fred. I think he stays for a few more years, then Fred will help him get something bigger. More than a little hope my comments!

And it wont be the worst thing that could happen either. Fred will hire someone else who will do the job well and he will also get the reputation with assistant coaches that he helps get them jobs. TJ has been great for building this team. He's earned a shot and whoever replaces him will do their part as well.
 
Guys it's a D1 head coaching job in a very good mid major conference. It'd be a great get for TJ.

and he's not getting a better gig without taking a job like this first.
 
Sandy Hattfield Clubb was just on the news stating that the search has begun. The thing that "always" bothers me is when these people try their hardest to find someone with Drake ties... Central Iowa ties... etc, crap like that. Since when has those credentials ever determined a title of any kind? If you didn't have to maintain a "B" avg. they'd more than likely have some better luck recruiting both coach and players. I kinda like Drake, and wish them the best. I just hope they don't screw this up again.
 
Hatfield club saying she wants head coaching experience with Iowa ties. Sounds like iowa assistant
