Close calls can often make a team better. How many times have teams had close calls like this the week before a rivalry game and gotten better from it? Plus, UNI is a great FCS team with tons of speed and they played a perfect game in the rain. I am not calling the season over yet. There were lots of things that need to improve, but they got it done....

A D2 school that plays inside, on artificial turf, in controlled climates? I won't call the season over yet, but we are in the triage room being evaluated at this time.

What's wrong with pointing that out? Is ISU likely to make a run to the BCS? No. But just because you had a close call against UNI in week 1 doesn't mean that the season is going to suck. You can't get any closer than having to block 2 straight field goals in the final :07.

O Line Must Improve significantly, but assuming they do I like our chances for overall improvement, Jantz, Horne and Lentz made the plays when plays needed to be made. Knott is a stud, Secondary looks decent...brutal game to watch but 4 turnovers and no O Line will do that.

Had this same thought after the 80 yd bomb. So glad we found a way to pull this one out and hopefully learn from it.

Only EIU fans predict such things, but usually after beating a glorified High School team buy a touchdown or two.

Apparently you missed the reference. That's exactly what happened with Iowa two years ago...

I think the one positive I can take away from this game is that even though Jantz didn't look so great most of the game, when it absolutely counted he seemed to come through. That was a hell of a scramble and throw on 4th and 10.

Sure didn't sound like we had much of anything upfront. Whoever took over for Hicks at least got some valuabe pt.

If it's any higher than 14, I wouldn't be picking Iowa to cover. It's going to be a competitive game if guys like KO and Knott are ready to go.

Just got back from the game. Our offensive and defensive lines should be ashamed of themselves. We got manhandled every snap the entire game.

Jantz was sketchy at first, but he won this game for us and we should have lost. We haven't had a QB do that for us since Seneca.
