***Official Post Game Thread - ISU vs. Nebraska***

I think someone should call in to the call in show Monday night and ask about runnign the iso set for DG late. At the very least, you'll get the reason why the coaching staff was doing it. I figure they know more than all of us anyway, but it might shut some of you up.

This should officially end any talk, for the time being, of being a bubble team.

Probably should end speculation about NIT hopes, too, but it's too soon to
tell.
Buck up little buddy, we'll be fine. Our guys played tough we just weren't polished enough to finish. Were much more competitive than we've been for years.

Would have really liked to see DG used as a decoy in that last play, as everyone in the building probably expected him to get the ball. Hindsight is 20/20 though, and he had a heck of a second half. Hard not to go to your hot hand and senior leader.

Did DG try to pass it on that last one, or put it up and get it blocked? I didn't see anything but a mass of players and then Nebraska coming out with the ball.

Since we're going to hear that we can't have expectations now, I'll just go ahead and say that this gutsy effort doesn't change my perception that we could sneak right into the NIT.

My hoped-for expectations haven't changed, and my enthusiasm doesn't change. This hurts, but it doesn't change it for me.

Up by 4 with 3:30 left. We don't score again. NE gets their 4 points to tie on FTs. Bad, bad, bad clock management. Just bad. Lucky to get the ball with 6 left and still tied. Then give that away as well.

As mentioned, decent chance we start 0-5 in conference. Need to prepare for that guys. There are some wins out there, but the next 4 will be tough.

Nebraska made 2 field goals the last 12 minutes of the game...absolutely unreal that we lost this game. All of their other points were on free throws. Just unbelievable that we could lose this game.

You cannot turn the ball over that much and expect to win at home or on the road, turnovers kicked our butt. We shot ourselves in the foot with this one, run n gun till they stop you Fred lesson learned bring on the Jayhawks!!

I understand the ball being in DG's hands is the way we're playing, this year. We're running it in the ground a little though.

With this team's fight, there's a decent chance of anything. I don't need to prepare for it. If it happens that way, I'll deal with it then.

With Baylor's underperforming team, there's a nice chance to beat them in Hilton. As they say, that's why they play the games.

Back to enjoying the ride

If any blame should be passed out, give it to Railey. We could have really used another big body tonight for a few spot minutes. Could have made the difference.

One question on this. When Nebraska had big fatty in at Center and Ejim and Godfrey were killing themselves trying to stay in front of him, should Fred have put in one of the recently added football players? Admittingly, I have no idea which positions these guys play, but they seemed thick enough to body up to a guy for a couple of minutes. We'd lose some offensive production, but Ejim and Godfrey didn't look to have anything left after that stretch. We will face a lot of big guys in the Big12, I hope there are other plans rather than having Ejim try to guard them all season. If those two walk-ons are going to ever see the floor in meaningful situations, it will have to be to guard on the interior.
