NFL: ***Official Offseason Thread***

Unfortunately there are only so many top tier QBs in the league and the Steelers are siding with Ben.
I think the diva behavior is the big issue as well. They've enabled a lot of bad behavior lately and it will end up costing Tomlin eventually.
How much does Ben have left? He's 37 and has taken a beating.

Good question. It's so hard to tell with quarterbacks anymore because of how the rules of the game protect them now. But Roethlisberger has taken a lot of hits due to his playing style, and he's never struck me as a big conditioning guy. I don't know if his body holds up into his forties like Brady or Brees.
I think we still don't know if those two guys playing this well this late into their careers is an indication of what's to come as quarterbacks get better and smarter about finding ways to extend their career or if it's just an anomaly.

Need the Chiefs to fix this damn defense.

This one ought to help you guys. Mathieu had a great season kind of under the radar for the Texans last year. With his playmaking ability and versatility that's a relatively good deal for them.

Earl Thomas and LeVeon Bell are the headliners of the remaining free agents without a deal in place, but there are still a lot of good players left on the market.

A little expensive but only a 3 year deal and a position we desperately needed help. He's super versatile too, can be a box safety, deep safety and slot corner. Get Berry healthy (avoided surgery for some reason???) and the safety spots are good to go.

Address DB in the first round of the draft draft to get Kendall Fuller some help. Also grab a 4-3 DE & LB along with a center and we're golden.

Personally I think that's crazy. There are games where he looks like he can barely walk now.

Yeah I think he's got 1 or 2 years left. If the OL can stay consistent and keep him off the ground, that will help.

Unfortunately the Steelers are once again almost COMPLETELY silent in free agency. They are basically allergic to signing anyone who can help the team. It would help if they were drafting superstars still, but their drafts have been less impressive of late as well.
They need a corner opposite Joe Haden but haven't signed anyone. They could have revamped their secondary with a guy like Mathieu, but refuse to do so. Now they will probably keep Bud Dupree on a 9 mil dollar option instead of cutting him loose or restructuring.

All the while the freaking Browns have completely revamped their team in just a few years and are set up to win the division consistently in the near future.

The Ravens look pretty OK in the future, too. Letting Suggs, Mosley and Za'Darius Smith walk will hurt next season but all three should result in no worse than a fourth round comp pick. The Ravens have been living on compensatory picks forever.

The landscape is changing quite a bit in the AFC North.

Still too early to know for sure, but it seems Le'Veon Bell may have overplayed his hand. His market has dried up, and the only team seriously pursuing him now is the Jets.

Their window is open right now. Makes sense to kick some of that financial obligation down the road a few years. It'll catch up with them eventually but I get why they did it.
I agree. Their window is NOW. Let's go for it.

Mayfield
Beckham
Landry
