I'm much more concerned about a foot injury than an ankle. An ankle can be a little tender, but treatable. The wrong kind of foot issue can be season ending.

This. If it is an ankle, we pretty much know he will be good to go on Sunday. It looked to clearly be an ankle looking at the replay, too. If it is a foot, I am worried. There are not many foot injuries that don't at least linger for awhile.

I think the crutches are probably precautionary. I hope. I have actually broken a toe before where I walked on my foot and broke it even more, but I will say that Niang was walking on his foot better than when I had my episode.

Guessing you are right. That's the bone I broke when I stepped on a foot in a game.
