Since its looking like no ISU players will get drafted, what is everyone excited about with their favorite team. I dont have a team, but I love the draft.

Think Winston goes first, then someone moves up to #2. First round is always exciting.

I don't know why, but I just can't shake the feeling that Winston is gonna be a colossal bust.

I think that about Mariotta and I see all these rumors about teams putting together these grand packages to move up and get him and I'm just like wow. The Titans would be idiots to not trade out of that pick.

As a Bucs fan, I really hope they don't pick Winston. I can't root for a team with that **** bag playing on it.

Only chance ISU gets a player drafted is EJ Bibbs and he'll be a late late round at best. He'll sign with a team by the end of the weekend though.

I'm excited to see where Brandon Scherff ends up. I grew up in a town next to his hometown and he is really good friends with my brother-in-law.

Cleveland will **** everything up again. Like always.

As always I'm real interested to see what happens with the Vikings today.
Do they have a Peterson trade lined up?
Will they trade the 11th pick and try to get a late first a another second round pick?

Depends on who they're targeting and who falls. If they're set on a guy like DeVante Parker, they probably won't be able to get him much lower than their 11th pick. Waynes is probably going to go right in that area as well. Scherff might be gone already at 11. But, if they're looking at someone like Landon Collins, they might be able to move down and get him later.

As far as AP goes, I'm more and more convinced that he's not going anywhere.

He's got a million dollar arm and a ten cent head.

I think he'll have limited success but crack under pressure and never win a lot of games.

Mariota COULD succeed in the right situation I think. He's got talent and he's a great kid. He needs to be able to come into a solid team where he can develop.
The Browns are not that scenario. They will throw him to the lions (and Ravens and Steelers!) way too early.
Any team that trades up for him will be pressured into starting him early as well.
Unfortunately there just aren't THAT many QBs who can come in and be pro QBs from day one.

Andrew Luck has been the only no doubt franchise QB in the past few years. Teddy B and Blake Bortles showed some promise last year but neither could have started from day 1. RGIII showed flashes but even when healthy he seems to be a **** up. Cam Newton is pretty darn good but he's just under .500 record wise.

Teams get so enamored with drafting that #1 QB that they don't realize that success rates for first round QBs are less than 50/50.

The Steelers have need for CB and and Edge Rushing OLB/DE. There are some good ones to be had in the first round, its just a waiting game to see who falls to 22, and hopefully not because of off field issues. Steelers are usually more hesitant than most to gamble on character guys in the first round.

If their top targets at CB and OLB are off the board I would be ok with them moving down. It's supposed to be a deep draft at CB so they could let Dallas trade up to take a RB ahead of Detroit and get another 3rd rounder or some similar scenario.

Lately they've been taking "Best Player Available" so hopefully that guy ends up being a need position.

Cool story, bro

I saw a mock last week that had Leonard Williams falling to the Bears at #7-if only that would happen.

Maybe mad-genius Chip will screw up the first round enough that it will happen.

Being a Titans fan, I'm at a loss as to what's going to happen. We need a QB but it seems like Mariota would be a gamble. Would be willing to trade down if the right offer presents itself. I think the most sure thing would be to draft Leonard Williams. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

I think the Vikings are in a win- win position. It sounds like their 3 main targets at 11 would be Scherff, Parker and Waynes. At least two of those three should still be there at 11. I also enjoy how Tricky Ricky is able to jump back in the first the last few years. Also at 11, there is a good chance a good player will drop and Minnesota will be able to get a good value player (think Sheriff Floyd).

I personally think that the two big droppers will be Shane Ray and Randy Gregory. So I would think if they are still available with the final 5-7 picks of the draft, that Minnesota trades up and grabs one of them. Just a guess.

I wonder how many more times Rick is going to get away with his "trade back into the first round" trick. I think other teams are starting to see what he's doing. It's less about the player that he's moving up to pick, and more about getting them in the first round, which gives the team a 5th year option on the player. There's a ton of value in that, because it allows one more year of having a guy on his cheaper rookie contract. It might be harder to get back into the first round, going forward because of it. We'll have to see, though.

The Patriots will always take their extra picks and get out of the first round.
