*** Official ISU Creighton Post game thread ***

The blocking call that helped Creighton tie it up was the worst call I've seen in a basketball game in a long time so him making the three was justice. I think the ref new he blew that call shortly after he blew his whistle and was very glad Jaime made that three.

That was $20 well spent!!!! I coulnd't have taken a heartbreaking OT loss after the disappointment in Ames last night!

As the shot transpired, I didn't think he got it away in the 1.6 he had left. To dribble, and then put on the spin move...glad there was no TV!!!

This team is fun to watch! Looking forward to Kennesaw St!!!

Wow. After watching the replay on cyclones.com, that's just a horrible call by the refs on the last shot. You can't get 2 dribbles and a normal shot off in 1.6 seconds.

There's no way that you can take 2 dribbles and still get a shot off in 1.6 secs... and he didn't.

But, we'll take it. Creighton shot like they've never shot before, and our best FT shooter bricked 3 FTs down the stretch. We deserved to win.

make up call for the blown call that allowed creighton to tie the game

Got it off, didn't - I don't care and I won't feel the least bit guilty. I've seen too many breaks go the wrong way for ISU to care about this one. The team played hard tonight and faced some adversity and came through in the end. 4-0 baby!

Just got back from the game. It should never have come down to the last shot. The blocking call on VB was rediculous and Scotty missed 3 free throws at the end, any one of which would have Iced the game

I do agree the shot did not go off before the buzzer. But at the same time... this is one of those situations that who knows if the clock was started at the right time to begin with...

Generally, it doesn't matter if the clock is started at the exact correct time because there is enough time for a player to see the clock and must adjust to get the shot off in time. But when there's 1.6 seconds... starting the clock at the correct time becomes a big deal.

That said... did he get off the shot in 1.6 seconds after he touched it... probably not, but it's possible.

He actually took two dribbles before he shot -- there's no way JVB could do that and turn and get off a shot in 1.6 seconds. I'm not sure if a guard could even do that.

did anyone else notice the Creighton student section harassing the clones as they came off the floor? classless.

The team probably shouldn't have responded by flexing in their faces, but oh well...

Winning these even matchups in the non-conference can be huge when it comes to getting into postseason play at the end of the year. It something we didn't really do to well with McD.

Eh, that's what student sections do. They're probably still getting over that NU loss in football last night.

Justice was served! The refs were absolutly horrible to isu the whole night. They travelled the entire first half and only got called once, if that. The fouls at the end were horribly called. McD should have gotten T'ed up, and didn't. The foul calls at the end were bull sheet. But we should have made our free-throws, and could be argued we didnt diserve to win... but guess what... WE DID! Go Clones! those CU fans were anoying.

Good riddance of McDermott and this game.

On another subject:
Only a little over 10K fans? Gee, I could swear I remember something like 12K on a fairly regular basis at Hilton (mostly Cyclone fans alone). Playing in DSM only hurts the cyclone fanbase. I hope it stops sometime soon.

Yeah... I was listening to the radio and heard the call said one dribble and shoot. But now that I've actually been able to watch the replay. Yeah... two dribbles... I don't think that can be done in 1.6 seconds...

Edit: Now I'm hearing 1.8 and 1.9 seconds as well. Regardless... it's tough to tell how much time should have been on the clock and if he got it off. I'm glad the ref's called it good. I trust we would have won in OT anyway... but it still is good not to have to put my heart through that.

In fairness, since none of the tickets here were included in season tickets, almost all the tickets sold for this game were 'butts in seats'. We've had higher attendance numbers, but probably fewer butts in seats in hilton (though greater numbers of cyclone fans). FWIW though, i would much rather not play in WFA, im not a fan of it

Ehh....I'll take it, I kinda feel like Greg owes us a few anyways.

Wow, what a game. Talk about ironic. The style that we all wanted Greg to get going here is what the first game against him was all about. And was the funnest game thus far for our clones.

McD still loses it, but what a game. Glad it still works out that way when it goes up tempo.

It was was great to see what Fred could do in 4 games with McD's players what McD couldn't do in the years he was with ISU. He still can't win, good riddens to the worst coach in ISU history. Fred can coach, McD can't.
