***OFFICIAL IOWA/ISU WEEK THREAD***

Maybe as a Clone fan you don't understand that coaches are supposed to put their teams in position to win games. Last year Iowa has a NFL QB and he attempted 19 passes for 66 yards in a win over Michigan. He attempted 15 passes NBA Nebraska in a 30 point rout of the Fuskers.

It is about winning games, not one players stats.
Wholeheartedly agree. Stanley still didn't beat Allen though, Wyoming lost to Iowa. Very large difference.

Got it. Then how did Stanley outplay Allen? I mean, he did it all by himself, right?

Edit - dammit, Meow!

Can we really credit ANF as a real thing?

'Cuz it wasn't. And still isn't to this day.

AHF is just to troll Iowa fans. ANF actually meant something. Don’t be as ignorant as the fool afraid of homeless people. ANF was a big deal at the time, and it was a real Iowa crisis. Bringing awareness to a serious issue isn’t a bad thing.

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey also presented Fry with an award to say thanks for what he did.

"I was one of those young farmers in the 1980s, and I remember what a challenge that was," Northey told Fry. "I'm not sure it's possible to describe what putting the ANF decal on the helmets of your players meant."

Didn't say he won the game all himself. I said he outplayed Allen and he did. WB usually get too big of credit for wins and take too much blame for losses, that is pretty standard tho.

This isn't even a troll, either, I don't really see how either QB played that well. Allen was far below his potential (supposedly), and Stanley wasn't asked to do any work. It's hard to make a fair comparison of those two things, they played entirely differently.

...sooo.... What the f*** did ANF actually do? Did it like, raise money, or support research, or ... Anything valuable whatsoever?

I can "raise awareness" for Hurricane Harvey victims, too, but that's still not useful compared to donating money or actually helping out in some actually meaningful manner. On the other hand, your local Iowa State University has an entire, prestigious college and multiple departments dedicated to agricultural business and research to support ag sciences and communities... But you guys just call us "Moo U" for that.

Meh. I would say Stanley's "supporting cast" won the game IN SPITE of his performance. Seriously...his performance was not something to write home about. You're stretching.

Edited to give correct name to totally unmemorable Hawkeye QB...

I'm sure Barta will be quick to write letters to Big12 teams if he does (before finding out whether it was actually Iowa students responsible).

I hope Pollard will keep out all non football personnel this year. While the fan experience is important, Pollard's policy of letting Iowa fans into the Iowa locker room isn't a good policy.

Who is Daniels? It would have been helpful to have had him calling hte O line Saturday.

This. It's not the sticker itself. It's the fact that the fanbase touts the greatness of the gesture (and that's really ALL it was - a gesture), but simultaneously mocks ISU for its Ag programs.

But keep on thinking we hate supporting farmers, Mashup. It's a valiant (albeit misguided) effort...

ISU should be proud of its agriculutral school. Iowa should be proud that it's coach and team raised awareness to a crisses. I don't get why ISU fans get all ticked off that Iowa and fry get credit for doing a good thing. If you truely cared, you would applaud what Fry did and applaud what's ISU is doing.

ANF = AHF in that they are both fake marketing ploys that don't actually help anyone or actually do anything. I'm glad that UI fans are seeing that through AHF, though -- someone had to shove that reality through their skulls.

While I agree in principle, there's an alternative: you could tell your fans not to steal your own players' s***.

Does Pollard let ISU fans into the ISU locker room during games? Why is he letting Iowa fans into the Iowa locker room? Makes zero sense.
