****Official Class Of 2024 Recruiting Thread****

Omaha’s camp is not planning on him spending multiple years in college.

It’s pretty shocking how unfit he looks for the speed of the game but I’m not sure that’s enough to change things. He could still choose the UDFA route and work on his development at the professional level.
I feel like if the game catches up with him and takes off, he could really make himself some money though. I think the thought was 1 and done, if he gets playing time. Unfortunately he has proven that the college game is too fast for him at this point, what are these teams going to think about him stepping up to the NBA? At this point, he almost needs to come back for a year, and then go to the G League

I think he can come back for a year and then get drafted. He's clearly physically skilled. Another year with this staff (especially including a summer) and I think he'll be ready to turn loose at this level.

this has been a really fun year, and it is far from over, but a starting lineup consisting of Lipsey, Omaha, Rock, Momcilovic, and probably Gilbert at a #2? That lineup will be really fun to watch

When he came in vs. K State he was lost. I have hopes for him but certainly not this season. Any pro league would eat him up.

People expecting Rock to start next year I think are setting themselves up for disappointment. It will essentially be his freshman year, after a year of not playing and his body still needing work. Plus, he's coming from South Dakota HS basketball, which isn't super competitive. I imagine he'll be a bit of a project.

We do this every year, but it's very difficult to play in the Big 12 as a freshman. Here's the Big 12 freshmen who are getting at least 25% of available minutes for their team.

It's all mostly guards or wings. The only productive players on good teams are Walter, Milan, Missi, Furphy, and Tugler. If Rock is playing a lot of minutes, I fear it'll be because we struck out entirely on bigs in the transfer portal.

I'd be curious to hear an honest account of how Biliew, Rock and Fish and have progressed in practice this year. From the limited court time we've seen, Fish and Biliew struggled defensively, but we need them to be able to contribute next year unless we are able to land a feisty big or two in the transfer portal. Green has improved BRE, Ward and King, so I'd love for him to keep that trend going.

I'm also wondering how Hamilton is coming along. Hopefully, he can come in and surprise us next year.

Torvik since 2008
at least 6-10
big 12 only
freshman only

ISU geography major legend Justin Hamilton is my baseline hope for JT Rock in 2024-25

TJ has shown he likes to rotate his bigs in and out almost like hockey lines in short stints. Rock is going to play considerable minutes.

From a day ago. Great interview with Dwayne. Seems like a great kid. Suffered an arm injury and will be out a few weeks. I think he is going to be really good and is such a versatile player.

It's probably the New York accent, but his dad sounds exactly like Denzel Washington.

He's going to play like 12-15 minutes a game off the bench. Hopefully he can hold his own on defense and show some flashes offensively.

If your expectations are anything higher than this, you will more than likely be disappointed. Bigs take multiple years to adjust to the next level and JT will be just 18 years old all of next season. His best basketball is 2-3 years down the road.

I would not mind if he put up number similar to Iowas freshman center. Our guards will carry the load next year. I would rather see us get a transfer power forward with muscle. Think like a poor man’s Daymon’s Green type than a true center
