Official bye week thread....

Also did yard work. A lazy prior occupant of our home used to have a rock garden and decided to just put soil over it and "try" to grow grass. Key word, try. So today was 4 hours of tilling and pulling out rocks. Also found some random slabs of concrete under there. I am sore.

No, it was a flipper and they took the door out. They finished half the basement, so they kept the door that went to the finished part, but took the one out on the unfinished side. We decided to put a door back to go to the h finished side. Primarily because we are getting an interior French drain and sump pump installed in our basement and didn’t want them on the finished side.

What is a "French drain????"

If I'm reading this correctly ....

A French drain is installed around the exterior of the house (my house growing up had this, I just didn't know what is was called.)

A footing drain in similar, but interior.

Is that right?

Yeah, I think a lot of new houses have it on the outside. But my house was never installed with one, so we’re getting it on the inside due to a cove joint leak.

Currently flying back from going to the Buffalo game at Kent State. Unfortunately Kent State had the better QB/WR combo. Cephas had 13 catches for 186 yards! He was the difference in a 48-38 game.

Well the section for the grill is mostly done, still have to clean up the edges a bit more. But will also be adding a bit more to have a walking path from the edge of the house too at some point.

Just in time to plant some grass and get it going before it gets too cold.

I talked the wife into going on a cruise. Think we found one, also planning how to travel with what will be a 21 month old, dont want to haul around a car seat if we dont have to.

Mostly yard work. Still trying to recover from my sod being laid in July (not my choice, I don't remember if it was a city or bank requirement for close) and much of it dying off due to the heat/drought this summer. With bare spots, the crab grass and other weeds took over in many places. I've been cutting/pulling weeds like mad the last month as I've seeded two times trying to fill in the open spots. Trying to get as much to sprout/take root before frost so I can put down some pre-emergent next spring before the weeds can get established.

Oh, and smoking meats :)
