Am I the only one tired of anyone with an internet connection being given credence because they are capable of putting out "plausible" realignment possibilities. How people can get all worked up with what essentially amounts to unverified internet chatter is beyond me. I just do not find discussing "plausible" scenarios by wannabe insiders of any interest any longer.

it sounds like all the ACC schools that have been talked about looking at possiably leaving the ACC are waiting for Maryland and the ACC to decide on the buyout

I always thought they would keep michigan over either purdue or msu but I understand why they keep Purdue. I still think that after Maryland's lawsuit is settled they B1G will announce a 15th team within a year after the lawsuit and go back to ND especially if the Big 12 and SEC make moves and give them 1 final shot before the B1G goes to 16

Obviously ND is playing B10, UT AD, ACC, NBC, you name it both butt ends against the middle to get the most money. Hope their team misses the playoffs in the future. They have messed up football rivalries.

Ok everyone says the ACC will get picked apart frome the B1G and the SEC in their moves to 16. What does the Pac 12 do stay at 12? Will the Big 12 stay at 10 go to 12 or 16? i think that by the start of football next year were going to have our answers

B12 will "raid" ACC once Big 10 does. Probably within the next few months. B12 won't stay at 10 imho.

Rumor has it that along with Florida St is that Miami is the top target for the Big 12, not Clemson. I do not mind this as it could set up to where all teams are playing in Florida at a minimum every other year from the Big 12. This all depends on how divisions are set up. This would be a huge population boost for the Big 12 as well as a recruting boost, at least for KU, KSU and ISU I think. Texas would still be huge but the 3 I listed might be able to get and additional few recruits out of Florida they may not have previously.

Not disagreeing with you but Miami seems strange to me. First, I assumed (maybe wrongly) that FSU would be against another FL school coming with them if they jumped and I think FSU would be the Big XII's top target (aside from ND). Second, it seems to me that the B12 would want to expand their geographic footprint (get into South Carolina). Third, Miami is one more serious incident from being SMU, imo. Not saying that they'd get the death penalty but Miami nearly cancelled football in '70's (lack of interest at a small private school in a state where the major public school dominated football) and rose in large part because they had not one, but three "Ron Meyers" in Schnellenberger, Johnson and Erickson. I think their faculty and administration would be content to focus on academics.

Im not sure FSU would feel that way simply because I think 1 they didn't disallow Miami to join from Big East and 2. If they want to come its to get out of a sinking ship and they won't care who they bring as long as its a southeastern US school.

Miami and FSU are both the "TV draw" names the networks look for. It doesn't even matter if they're good (see Michigan lately). OU vs. Miami, Texas vs. FSU...these are games that are huge national draws every single time. On top of that any time Miami or FSU plays a "non-name" but ranked team like Baylor, TCU, WVU, KState and hopefully ISU at some point it's a national draw regardless of how good they are. We have two teams like that already, we'd have four if we add Miami/FSU. I don't think Nebraska and A&M even had the national draw FSU and Miami do.

If those are the two, the Big 12 could very well end up ahead of the curve at just 12 while other leagues move to 16. It seems like the current bcs/playoff money is being given to the Big 12 on an equal share even with just ten teams.

If we stay at 12 with no ccg, the Big 12 is the next big thing to get poached, if not now in 2013.

I know that Cincy and UCONN have openly begged for a ACC invite but you have to wonder what Temple and South Florida are doing with the Big East hanging in the balance

It'll be interesting to see if Boise State and San Diego State never makes it to the Big East and stay in the MWC. If that happens you've got SMU and Houston following them, possibly Tulsa as well. That gets them to 15 and leaves an opening for BYU who will want back into a conference eventually. I say once that is done, the Big XII, B1G, SEC raid the ACC which takes in remnants of Big East. Then the MAC, Sun Belt, and C-USA, and whatever is left of the Big East gets demoted to FCS or some middle tier leaving Big XII, B1G, SEC, PAC12, ACC, and MWC as the FBS schools. There are too many schools as is and more joining every year it seems.
