Yes, but the smoke is there or is it created by this dude? Hard to say what is right and wrong.
Fair enough. I have probably used the 4x16 before, but at this point it is about what it represents, not that there will be an equitable split.
Any conference not planning on having a conference network to tax the public (does not have to be one of equitable pay amoungst members like the Big 10), is a conference not planning to being around in 10-15 years. In 10 years it is likely there will be 3-4 major conferences, each with their own network. The netowrks will be bundled together, so that every houshold in the nation that has cable will be paying those conferences $0.1 to $1.00 per month. First guess of the provider of the bundle: Fox. With the Big 12 seeming to continue with its tradition of being a step behind, the Big 10 and SEC will decide if it is 4 or 3 conferences. If they are okay with 4, one will likey stop at 16. If not, the third confernce will result from a blood-bath between the Big 12 and Pac-12.

No way. They would be better off with UNLV/Nevada, New Mexico, and one or 2 of the Texas leftovers in my opinion. At least they could expand their network. Boise State is Juco league academically. and SDSU brings zero to the table.
I think we have three conference heads in cahoots behind the scenes. There goes the theory that Pac 10 has no choices. Boise is better than Colorado anyway.
I'm not buying GT to the Big10. It just doesn't fit. Can I see UVA....maybe. Makes a little more sense. I think they nab Boston College though. They're the #7 TV market and fit a whole lot better in the conference. Who is 16? No idea. I could be way off here but GT just doesn't make any sense to me when looked at from any angle. Sure they have access to a big TV market but that's it.
What do you mean by "In Cahoots." Just interested what your theory is for the endgame of this. Does the Big 12 disband?
How does GT not fit? This is about expanding TV markets, and like you said, GT has that. They also have a relatively large fanbase, great academics, and give the Big 10 their desired entrance into the South.

LOL at BSU. There is no way they are competitive in the P12 without their partial qualifiers (plus they return to suckdom when Chris Peterson leaves)
There is no rational economic or competitive reason for the P12 to expand with either of those schools.
Slive, Delaney and Larry are talking together behind the scenes. Seems like each week one of them lobs a grenade.
I could see it with Beebe in office but Bowlsby demands HUGE respect, was once thought of as heir apparent to Emmert as the head of the NCAA. If nothing else Slive, Delaney, Scott and Bowlsby are in cahoots to kill off the ACC after they accepted Notre Dame as a partial member. I have read tons of stories and Scott and Bowlsby are really good friends and respect the hell out of each other. That's why I think the two will work together for the betterment of their leagues. The Big 12 hit a grand slam with Bowlsby.

I don't see Boise State or SDSU either. SDSU does not add a new market and Boise State adds a very small market. If they want to expand in the short-term (not saying they do), I would go to UNLV, New Mexico and Houston. Those would be three new markets and get them into Texas. Maybe only add Boise State if they get those 3. But that would be like getting the consolation prize when you were shooting for the stars.
