Our favorite dude of wv says FSU, Miami, Clemson and NC State have Big 12 invites. FSU and Miami are waiting for Georgia Tech to bolt--if they do. Then they're ours. Clemson and NC State will be holding out hope for an SEC bid, and we're the back up plan if that doesn't work out.
Let's get Duke and Dickie V. Love that Blue Devil mascot too. It would help Fred to recruit to a better conference in bball.

WVU boys are saying FSU to the BIG12 may be close to an announcement. Saying "Awaiting confirmation but we may have just landed FSU." and later saying "talks are heated but saying its done would be premature"

I loved TheDudeofWV's post yesterday about how conference realignment rumors are released into social media to try and gauge fan interest/reaction. You think? And who is the one Big 12 school that has been pushing for realignment since Day 1?? WVU. Yet, he believes everything he posts.

There is a reason OrangeBloods isn't a player in realignment round 3 this year, but the WVU guys are.

My understanding is that ESPN Austin was repeating what was said on a Houston radio station this afternoon, not a confirmed agreement between the BIG12 and FL St.

Haha! This whole this is a giant clusterfl!5k.

Florida State to B12?
Here's Texas' sales pitch to Florida State spelled out by Dodd's mouthpiece. This looks like it was transcribed straight from a Texas sales presentation to FSU. I doubt FSU wants to go from being under UNC's thumb to Texas's but who knows. I do find it interesting no current BE teams bring the value they, the B12, are looking for in expansion. One fact he has wrong is the SEC's Tier 3 rights. They will build their own network, that is what A&M and MU were all about.

Old, but still relevant for the move. FSU could make their own LHN.

If legit, are we assuming that a Clemson announcement is following shortly, a la Maryland and Rutgers to the Big Ten?

It also means we may go to eight conference games in the conference in 2014 and more than likely we will be in the Florida State & Clemson bracket with KU, WVU, and one other.

Are you seeing this as a negative?? I see it as a positive, although Paul has done great getting FL kids...Him being able to tell kids they will go home to play atleast once every other year cant hurt recruiting. Plus we are gonna have to play hard teams no matter who we play in the big12.

So many things...
1) Wouldn't the obvious 6th team in that bracket be K-State? How is that a big question mark?
2) Eight games isn't going to happen.
3) If we're going to add ACC teams, there are worse endings for ISU than ending up in a division that guarantees regular games both in Florida and Texas.

Division A
Clemson
Florida State
Iowa State
Kansas
Kansas State
West Virginia

Division B
Baylor
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
TCU
Texas
Texas Tech

I know that adding FSU + Clemson is important for expanding the footprint, gaining exposure, adding $$$, etc., but holy balls ISU might never win more than 6 games a year for a long time.
