***Official Baylor postgame thread***

He's not. He literally blamed the entire loss last night on himself too. People get way too high on him after wins and too low on him after losses IMO

I agree. But I thought last night was a little closer to calling out his players then he has in the past. Everyone’s frustrated from players to staff to fans. They know what they had in front of them and what the loss last night means. It will be interesting to see how they respond at TCU.

I think Prohm is actually really fair with his minute distribution. Who played more minutes than they deserved last night?

I’d have sacrificed some offense and sat Jake and Haliburton more. Jacobsen plays hard but he also plays like he’s 6’6”. And makes some plays that are kind of dumb. And he’s not shooting it very well at the moment. Haliburton is critical to our offense, but doesn’t punch about his 170# as well. I’d like to see them start Lard and Wigginton to shake things up and maybe open up opportunities for a couple more bench guys.

Jacobson had some nice looking shots early on in the game. Maybe that explains the hesitation? Still, should’ve re-evaluated when he was getting worked on the boards.

I watched Haliburton on multiple occasions provide back side help when Baylor was running the pick and roll. He intercepted a pass or two and certainly caused Baylor not to attempt to make a pass on other occasions. I think Haliburton is easily the most savy player we have on the court most of the time which is amazing since he is only a Freshman. He just sees things that other players don't recognize.

Prohm got out coached in this one. Not calling for him to be fired by any means, but 4-3 at home with this team in conference is downright inexcusable
Agree that he likely was out coached, but would be interested in detail how he was out coached.

Tyrese gets back in transition defense a lot so he usually only gets long rebounds. Babb had 7 rebounds and 6 assists. I'm fine with their minutes. The only thing I would have changed was probably give Conditt some run instead of Jacobson but Jacobson played the least amount of minutes he's had in any conference game

Getting back in transition alludes to the offensive glass. That wasn't our problem. When we go four guards our guards have to be able to get on the defensive glass and him having one rebound wont cut it.

Yeah, I hate being critical of those two because they've done all they've been asked to, and more.

But we were certainly up for curb stomping #5 Kansas when they came up to Hilton this season.

The home losses are certainly frustrating, no doubt. We've all seen just how good this team can be. I'm wondering if we peaked too soon.

For ***** sake. We had a great win 4 days ago.

Totally. Lard is our only legit big down low. Maybe Conditt could have given some minuets but I suspect he would have been pushed around. This was the kind of game we could have really used Solomon Young. Put him and Lard on the floor together and let them rebound and outlet to our guards for fast breaks. We would have run them out of the gym.

There’ve been several games this year where it’d have been nice to have Solo down low to shove some dudes around. Hope he’s back to 100% next season.

Yeah, he makes all the right plays, and we play like crap when he is off the court. I am rethinking that one a little bit :)

Yes, absolutely right we did.

And then we followed it up with another consecutive turd laid on the floor at Hilton to an unranked team. At this point I think it's worth at least asking the question.

I'm just curious why he is above reprieve in your eyes? I'm certainly not suggesting he gets fired or anything, but to some here love to give him all the glory when we win and a free pass when we lose. Last night was as much on him as it was on anyone.

First, it’s reproach.

Second, not flying off the handle over a loss isn’t suggesting he’s above said reproach.

Third, it’s not that he’s immune to criticism, it’s that the people with agendas come on here and fly off the handle. Then completely disappear when we win. That’s not about coaching.

Fourth, this team is still 19-7 and is playing for a seed, and it would be good to see how the season plays out before losing your mind.
