Official Apology Thread: Has the rot set in?

The one in the first half was iffy.

Otherwise you can't body slam a runner when they're already out of bounds and you can't go headhunt someone on the opposite side of the field from the play/ball especially right in front of the refs. That's not details or margins; it's trash football.
On the first, the tackle began clearly in bounds and I seriously doubt the whistle had blown.

On the second, similar situation. It was a clean block before the whistle. Had our runner somehow made it back to midfield that block would have mattered.

I guess agree to disagree.

ISU's defender picked the ball carrier up by his waste and slammed him down clearly after they were out. It was a costly dirty play to give KU 15 more yards and he was held out after.

I would really like to know, how did Kansas leapfrog us in overall talent?

And, yes, if Kansas can beat us convincingly on our field, the rot has set in!
They mostly recruited almost explicitly for speed.

Which means they are undersized in places.

But also means little mistakes against them are very costly.

Probably not a huge difference in stars, but speed kills.

Their coach knows how to use it, and also plays to win.

You realize KU was ranked and beat OU last week?

They've been better all season. ISU overcame a few teams in a short time with CMC once. It's not that crazy of a notion.

Their coach knows what he wants to do and gets the players that fit the plan.

Maybe we need a coach who does these things?

I am getting a little tired of, for example, only beating Iowa when they have a team so bad that they lose to the worst teams in their conference division, and even then only barely.

Yeah, I don't feel any differently about this team than I did going in. They're good, but not good enough to overcome big mistakes. I think some people bought into the fools gold of being tied for first with almost half of the conference season to go. I'm an optimist, but being in the championship game would have shocked me.

I actually don't feel great. If the development of the offensive line is anything to go by, just being young does not reassure me that the coaches will make these players better.

Very few players here start out bad and get good. If they're good, they're good from the start.

If our backup safeties are this terrible, and they are the next men up, we're in big trouble

Did gunner hack into your account?

you can't lose to kansas at home at night wearing black unis

Once again, this was not Kansas 2015.

They're a solid team and you need to play well and be succinct to win.

ISU didn't do that and it was kind remarkable that they had a chance late.
