Official Apology Thread: Has the rot set in?

Similar thought on my side. A lot of fans help hopeless after Ohio. We were at that time, one of THE WORST offenses in power 5. NO rushing game, very little passing game.

Campbell did what the great ones do - they adapt. He gave more leash to Nate S. to call what he wants to call, and the result has been beautiful. We have a nice balance of downfield passing and outside running that is hard to defend when we are humming. Nate and Matt have figured out how to best utilize Higgins, Noel, Eli Sanders, Brahmer, and our weapons.

In the process of all of this, he has also made some changes. He has benched Darrell Simmons and allowed Brendan Black into the starting lineup. He has allowed Stevo "not a jackass" Klotz to be the great blocker he is and play more snaps. He has used Lovett more on third downs as a spy.

All of this is coaching and we have great coaches. I'm quite giddy at what this offense can be next year. And i'm excited for the rest of this year as well. For some reason (especially if we are bowling), i don't expect we lose a ton of guys in portal. Our turnover there has been really good through the years.

I'll tentatively say I was wrong. Just hope we can pick up a win or two in this next, difficult 4 game stretch.

Debbie Downer incoming....

I'm sure the gambling stuff exaggerated the September struggles this year, but they are so damn frustrating every season. Should have easily been at least 1-1 against Ohio & Iowa. With the new landscape of college football, we need to figure out who we are during Spring & Summer. Not mid-October.

You will "tentatively" say you were wrong? In other words, you still reserve the right to say Campbell sucks. Good grief.

I love fans who only want to ride the bandwagon when the road is smooth. There's no doubt that when we hit the next bump in the road, you'll be among the first to jump off.

Even better if you would just admit you are the stupidest SOB that posts here. And that includes Joe frog. You would have fired Matt Campbell a month ago. Such idiocy. They probably won’t even let you salt the French Fries at work. You should not be allowed to make decisions.

I just dont understand why some of you people are so goddamn sensitive to fans criticizing the team or coaches.

Let me help you out… some fans use this site to vent frustration. Deal with it. Not everyone wants to experience ISU athletics and CF exactly the same way you do.

IT IS ALRIGHT TO CRITICIZE THE TEAM AND COACHES.

If you start a preening peacock thread like that in back to back weeks you just have to endure the eternal dunking people will provide for you.

People who are now saying it was obvious the team was going to turn things around from that point aren't being honest though. There wasn't anyone even sticking their neck out to predict it after Ohio.
