*** Official #21 IOWA STATE VS #11 Gonzaga Game(Day) Thread ***

It looks like their zone kinda made us go stagnant, with little off-ball rotation / movement. I don't think we expected Zags to go zone when their man-man was effective in the first half.

The biggest thing was the heart and fight they showed after being down 18. They could have pulled an Iowa against Virginia and have easily lost by 30 or more. That tough mindedness is a great sign from them moving forward.

team played much better defense in the 2nd half much better more aggressive rotations and post defense. Play like that the whole game might not have been down to the last second shot to win.

You know what he drew up?
Impressive.

All I know is that nobody was looking to drive the ball on the last play, or the last several possessions. The best way to get a good look from 3 is to drive the ball and dish out.

Would have been fun to win, but I'll trade this in if it means another Big 12 Conference win.

Disappointed by the number of opportunities we had at the end that went south.

In the second half ISU stopped biting on the pump fake. In the first that was really taking them out of position. Would have been nice to get some offense out of Thomas and the bench.

Everyone on here is giving Gonzaga too much credit. They are good, yes, but not final four good.

Disagree. They're pretty damn good. Iowa State REALLY impressed me today.

Had a chance to beat a top ten team who was passing the hell out of the ball and shooting lights out. They also have a skilled sasquatch in the paint. Gonzaga could easily get to the Final Four.

I agree; our D really looked effective and tight. Great defensive effort

Where was Thomas? Pretty quiet most of the game.

Did he drop his streak of games with a made 3?

Also- whats the rule on refs coming in direct contact with the game? I know that it was unintentional but it directly led to 2 points?

Looked like maybe that last foul (to give) against Morris caught ISU off guard. We were fortunate the foul came with 5 sec left or else could have not gotten shot off.
