***Official 2023 Weather Thread***

Ours is holding on, but I think it's due to the brand new siding and windows we had installed earlier this year.
Same. I have 2 systems, one for the main and basement and one for the upstairs. The main floor will maintain 78 degrees without running when the sun is low/down. Warm definitely, but when everyone goes upstairs, I can turn that system off and set it to restart some time in the morning.

People think I'm crazy when I say I prefer winter over summer, but its because **** like this. When its -30 out, I just have a fire and sip on some bourbon.

You are not crazy. Having worked many years in both, they both blow but for me.....it's this 6 days a week and twice on Sunday. Put on a white long sleeve shirt, a hat that has a neck protector to keep the sun off you and with enough water can work all day long. You get that -30 below wind chill, you can never get warm. And the amount of clothes it takes to stay warm......! Plus in that type of cold nothing else wants to work as well i.e. tools. Can't do paint....brick or any other type of exterior work. Yes....this heat blows but much more preferable than a brutal winter cold snap.

Today's interesting tidbit. Now 6 Consecutive Days with a heat index over 100. Likely 7 tomorrow. If that's made it ties for 3rd longest heat wave with respect to heat index since 1936.

Today also made 3 straight days of 110+. I'm still digging but have only found two other instances that match. July 2011 and Aug 1983 (State Fair was brutal that year)

For most of the day it wasn't terrible but after about 2 every time I made a stop and got out my glasses would fog over.
